Things keeping me awake tonight:
-I picked up a bonus shift on my old floor today in hopes that I would get called off, but nope I actually had to work
-I picked up for tomorrow and am on call and wonāt know if I work tomorrow until 5am. I shouldnāt have done that.Ā
-My roommate just sprung on me that sheās moving out next month. Sheās moving closer to her parents and wants to have her own house instead of just sharing mine.Ā
-This breaks my heart because sheās become my best friend and sheās super easy going so sheās a pretty great roommate. Itās great living with someone whoās has the same career as you and you can just rant every night and they actually understand. And sheās always down for sushi lunches and drinks after work.Ā
-This makes me mad because less than a monthās notice?! Really?! This house payment isnāt cheap, the utilities are expensive bc its a pretty big house, and thereās no way I can find someone in that time.
-This kinda relieves me because sheās a functioning alcoholic and tends to drunk binge on my food and isnāt the cleanest person. And itās hard living with someone who has the same job as you and is your age, itās like everything feels like a competition. And I always felt inadequate or like a failure because she happened to randomly inherit a TON of money this year and was able to pay off her car, her student loans, get a boob job, go to Europe for two weeks, Hawaii for two weeks, and buy a $3,000 Louis Vuitton in Paris. So itās become a bit of a negative environment. But it was getting better because I just accepted that while my finances are in check and heading in the right direction, I could obviously never win or even compete.Ā
-All of this makes me re-evaluate my living situation. My dad bought this house for me and I rent it from him. I get an awesome deal for a really cool, 100 year old house in a trendy neighborhood. Iāve done SO much work here making it my own, but itās not mine and I feel WAY too attached. Iām sick of relying on roommates and dealing with this, but I also donāt want to live alone.
-Like living alone in a 4 bedroom, 2 story (with a basement), 2500 square foot home is terrifying. And itās over 100 years old and can be kind of creepy. Iāve spent plenty of time here alone, but living here alone scared me.Ā
So I want to be off tomorrow and I need a new roommate thatās clean and easy going and for the ghosts in this house to not kill me before then.
