Simmard (UBC) which demonstrates how plants engage socially, recognize kin, share resources and communicate - as well as the theoretical writing of Dr D. Haraway - if plants and humans are more similar than we previously thought then how can we more meaningfully cohabit and share our world? This series forefronts body and shared experiences/needs between the artist and their own house plants while digging a little deeper and asking what our moral obligation is to the plants we cohabit with, especially common house-plants that are non-indigenous to the lands we inhabit, entwined with colonial history and practices, and depend on us for survival?
