My favorite part of the pottery process used to be throwing. Now it’s seeing parts come together to make the whole piece.

Finished pieces in green celadon, two pilgrim flasks and a mug with vertical grooves. I wondered if carving through the mug rim would affect drinking — it doesn’t seem to.

I’ve been trying out a new technique for putting evenly spaced vertical grooves on curvy mugs. Just put a handle on this one.

Finishing up my take on a “pilgrim flask”, an ancient pottery form with a familiar looking core element.
