Following the bieber tour it seemed like you may have had a hard time finding substantial work, I think I even remember mentioning selling equipment to get by. Since then have you taken on any new jobs or commissions? Do you think the experience working for him as lead to positive exposure and advancement in your career or are you struggling to find work as a photographer since then. You’d be absolute correct. 2014 was a tough year, career wise. After tour, not having a guaranteed pay check is tough. And no, Bieber didn’t fire me, as many would claim. I’m his “touring photographer.” Simple. When he doesn’t tour I don’t work with him. It was a year w maybe 3 or 4 decent jobs. Flying to Toronto to shoot JB and his artist is March, a couple of shoots for Hollywood Records, a big job with R5/Hollywood/Zinepack, and a job with one of Gibson’s software companies. But they were spread out throughout the year and I was paying for an apartment I couldn’t afford for half the year. I’m awful at saving money so yeah I had to sell equipment, but it’s only equipment. I’ve since bought a replacement body. Freelancing is tough, but 2015 is looking up already.
