Super goofy smile to show off my new haircut! It feels really good to lose dead weight. I do have a rant though- the entire time I was getting it cut the salon was playing a station that played all songs I knew and have known since high school. 1 year ago today Barrett was born after a fast and furious 4.5 hour labor. He surprised us a month early. We came through the portal together and LOVE will forever be bigger and spelled in all caps. Some Days the Brewery Who is having a festival on Sunday sends you an advance to get excited about! We’re stoked to be at Harpoon Brewery in Windsor this Sunday!

Waterfalls. Kind of like fire, I just love to watch them. I am really remembering this summer how much I need to walk away and get the perspective of the natural world. When I feel like I might not belong, a good long stare at a waterfall can remind me that we all have our place, and our earth mother wants us and needs us. (at White River Junction, Vermont)

I like big earrings so I don’t need to wear makeup or comb my hair. I call these ones “The Canyon after The Rain”. I moved to Taos when I was 20 years old on a Greyhound Bus. I made friends, met characters, and climbed mountains. I left assuming I would be right back, but my wandering hasn’t gotten me back there yet. I didn’t have a camera or a cell phone then. There is no documentation of that time in my life, except in the songs, drawings, and musings in an old journal. I love to remember what sage smelled like in the morning while I drank coffee, and how vibrant it gets just after the afternoon summer rains. I love hanging with this guy in the woods- he gets so calm and curious! There were smiles too, but I’m trying to keep the hands free, so my phone was nowhere nearby for the really good stuff. #bearinthewoods (at Wilder, Vermont)
