Currently listening to Thereafter, by Save us from the Archon. Only heard this band once before but this album is seriously killer. I'd describe it as technical metal, relatively upbeat, countered by beautiful ambient, almost jazzy interludes. And it's not completely soulless like a lot of "technical metal" coming out these days. Feel good to almost be done with this behemoth. Solid teak outdoor table with lazy Susan, probably at least 500 pounds, and made with (supposedly) some of the last real teak to be exported from Burma. I wish I could take credit for all of this, but I've only helped with the glue ups and cleaning/sanding. #woodworking #furnituremaking #teak #furniture #finefurniture

Been in my top 5 since the day it came out. Jon Theodore's playing on this and De-loused has shaped me as a drummer and musician more than anybody else, and Omar's playing and songwriting have inspired me a great deal as a musician. I was particularly stricken by a part played by the late, great Ikey Owens on this album, which is why I decided to post this.
