LIGHT OF THE WORLD

No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lamp stand, that those who enter may see the light. – Luke 8:16

Yesterday, we looked at what it means to be the salt of the earth. We concluded that we must engage the world with the flavour of Christ. Today, we look at Christ’s second admonition to the believer, Matthew 5:13-16, to be the light of the world. What does being a light connote? Light is the very nature of God. 1 John 1:5 says, “This is the message which he have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” Light stands for life, goodness and truth. Darkness, on the other hand, stands for death, evil and falsehood.

How do we manifest the light of God to the world? The first way we do this is by radiance: we shine brightly in the world. The second way is by revelation: we make God known to the world. The third is by rulership: where we tend to position our light as believers.

• Under a basket. This cuts off the oxygen and kills light. A basket represents a standard of measurement. Submitting your light to worldly standards of measurement can kill your brightness. Don’t let the corrupt world system define you. • Under a bed. This hides your light from others. A bed represents rest, comfort and convenience. Don’t hide your light or brightness just because you find it convenient or comfortable to do so. • On a Lamp stand. Elevate your light to a place where it will have the greatest impact. This is the recommended position. We must set a Christlike example that others can look up to and be inspired. People must look at us and desire to be more like Christ.

Prayer: Father, help me to reflect Your light wherever I find myself.

Companionship

COMPANIONSHIP

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour. —Ecclesiastes 4:9

A Jewish proverb says, “A friendless man is like a left hand bereft of the right.” Consider how much having only one hand hinders productivity. When both hands are available, much more can be accomplished, and every activity is easier. Is it not good to have a friend off whom we can bounce things and from whom we can receive correction and encouragement in love?

Life is designed for companionship not for isolation. God set in motion those immutable laws that bind one person to another. There are laws of attraction that bring human beings with similar traits together. Companionship has the benefit of producing strength. In unity, there is strength.

Unity adds to productivity and greatly improves safety. Note that companionship with real friendship makes an activity more immune to failure.

Knowing who is there for you as a companion gives you courage, strength and confidence. When adversity touches your life, when fears scramble your thoughts, when confusion clouds your judgment, when shame pushes you to withdraw, you need someone to care for you.

In addition to your fleet of companions, make God your lead one. He is the ever-faithful trusted companion you can ever think of. Open your life to God and make Him your companion too.

You may want to believe that you are strong, capable and self-sufficient individual; yes, in some ways you may seem to be. But none of us are able on our own to maximise our potential; you need reference, support or a guide. Why do alone what you can do better with others and excel with God? Don’t walk alone. Hebrews 13:5-6 states “. . .For He Himself has said ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’. . . so we may boldly say: ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear what man can do to me.”’

Prayer: Lord, bring good friends my way.

Marriage

MARRIAGE

Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house. Your children like olive plants all round your table. Psalm 128:3

God expects couples to be faithful and fear Him so they can attract His reward. He promises to bless a family that fears the Lord and walk in His ways.

What is the fear of the Lord? I define it as a healthy respect and reverence for God stemming from the knowledge of God resulting in obedience to God. It is an attitude (respect and reverence) that results in an action (obedience).

The major responsibility is placed on the husband-man to create the atmosphere of “fear of the Lord,” then the blessings will follow. When a husband leads his family in following God, God says his wife can be “like a fruitful vine.” Being fruitful is not just limited to having children but also fruitful in wisdom, favour, understanding and all aspects of management. Proverbs 31 offers detailed traits.

The woman is also referred to in Scripture as a “vine” which is an emblem chiefly of fruitfulness, but perhaps also of dependence needing support.

The children, biologically, adopted and foster are described as an “olive,” which depicts a vigorous, healthy and joyous life experienced within a marriage home.

Thy children shall be like olive plants round about thy table. The beautiful illustration is that in the grove, this aged and decayed tree is surrounded, as you see, by several young and thrifty shoots, which spring from the root of the venerable parent. They seem to uphold, protect, and embrace it. We may even fancy that they now bear that lead of fruit which otherwise would have been of the feeble parent.

This man who fears the Lord in marriage has his happiness from God and not circumstances in life.

Prayer: Lord bless my marriage and my home with peace, joy and prosperity.

Divine Power

DIVINE POWER

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8

Power is the ability or capacity to do things, it can be People’s power, political or electrical power. All these are earthly and limited; however, divine power is unlimited and can do all things, even the impossible.

The Greek words for power include Exousia (authority) and Dunamis (explosive, inherent power).

Jesus instructed the disciples to first, expect the Holy Spirit, second, receive Dunamis power and to witness.

To effectively accomplish this end-time mission, they needed Power – Dunamis to help them to witness, overcome sin, the devil and their operations. He shows them the armour of power in which they are to be clothed, before He points them to the battlefield. The disciples took the power, used it and prevailed. The Holy Spirit is the presence of God actively working with the believer.

Acts 10:38: “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” The Holy Spirit is here associated with the power by which God was with Jesus — the power through which Jesus Christ performed mighty miracles during His earthly ministry.

This ability is not just for the apostles. We may not receive this power in the same dramatic way, or be used in an apostolic role, but everyone who has received God’s Spirit has power to be a witness of Jesus Christ. God has important work for you and you need the Holy Spirit’s power to get effective results. The message of salvation has not reached its FINAL destination yet, God is counting on you as you receive the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Father, give me spiritual power, and confirm Your word with signs, miracles and wonders as I proclaim the gospel of Christ.

HOLINESS

But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16

God is holy, and He calls all who believe in Him to imitate His holiness. God’s holiness pervades His entirety and shapes all His attributes. His love, His mercy and even His anger is holy. His very being is completely absent of a trace of sin.

As believers, we need to be “set apart” from the world unto the Lord. We need to be living by God’s standards, not the world’s. God isn’t calling us to be perfect, but to be distinct from the world. First Peter 2:9 describes us as “a holy nation.” It is a fact! We are separated from the world and we need to live out that reality in our daily lives.

Christians must imitate the God we worship and form our character in accordance with His. We must do what is right and practise virtues approved by God. God who is the object of our worship is holy, so must His worshippers also be.

Holiness is a product of a right relationship with God, believing in Jesus Christ as Saviour. If Jesus is not yet your saviour from sin, then your pursuit of holiness is in vain; first make sure you are born-again. Secondly, recognise that your position in Christ and your relationship with God automatically sets you apart for the world. Therefore you must daily live a set-apart life, not trying to blend in with the world, rather living according to God’s Word as we Study the Bible and grow in it.

God is holy in all His ways. If we are to be like Him, we must be holy in all that we do and say.

Prayer: Thank You Father for allowing me to participate in Your holiness; give me grace to pursue holiness.

Divine Healing

DIVINE HEALING

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

When Jesus was raised from the dead, was He still carrying sicknesses and diseases? No, He was raised with a perfect, glorified body. So where did He leave our sicknesses and diseases He took in His body? He left them in hell. Jesus died and descended to the depths of hell, carrying our sicknessess and diseases. But when He was raised from the dead, He came forth a glorious man. Therefore, when we are born again, healing is ours ro claim!    When we confess Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are declaring that His work of redemption was done on our behalf. We affirm that the punishment of our peace was laid upon Him; He died for our sins; by His stripes we were healed.    Here’s another question: If God didn’t want us healed, why did Jesus bear those stripes before He went to the Cross? That was one part of His suffering He could have bypassed. But He did it by choice. He received those stripes for a purpose. And that purpose is clearly stated in the scriptures: By His stripes we were healed.    Healing is a firmly established fact. Now we just need to get the revelation in our own spirits that healing is God’s will for us. When we do, we will start walking in the divine health Jesus purchased for us with those stripes on His back.    Make the following confession: Jesus willingly paid the price for me. He took my sickness; He gave me His health. I appropriate what the Lord did for me and receive my healing now.

Prayer: Command every sickness and disease to depart from your body in Jesus’ name, and declare divine health for yourself and your family.

Divine Influence

DIVINE INFLUENCE

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavour, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. Matthew 5:13

There are some few attributes of salt the Lord wants us to observe and immitate.

First, salt does not serve itself or demand service from others. It is only there to serve others. No one eats salt as a meal. It’s present in the bowl to serve the other ingredients. When we are enjoying a meal, we praise the fish, the meat, the yam, or the vegetables but not the salt that enhanced the taste of these ingredients. In fact, the salt is not even visible in the meal. It does its work and then leaves the scene. It does not attract attention to itself. In the same way, we are here on earth not to serve ourselves or to be served by others. We are here to serve. We are not here to receive honour but to honour others. “Even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and offer His life as a sacrifice for many.”

Second, salt is the one which brings out the taste and flavour of the other ingredients. It is there to add value to others. It brings out the best in others. Salt helps other ingredients to achieve their purpose. In the same way, the Lord wants us to add value to the life of those around us. To help them find meaning and purpose in life. It is our duty to bring joy to our loved ones and help them bear their burden.

Salt is also a preservative. A little salt in a fish, and it stops it from decay and corruption. Put some salt on a piece of meat, and it will preserve it for years. In the same way, our presence in our communities should stop the corruption that is plaguing our society.

Prayer: Lord, give me grace to be the salt of my society.

Divine Wisdom

DIVINE WISDOM

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

If you were asked to specify the chief defect in humans, you would probably have thought of something else than wisdom. Yet wisdom is the key missing factor. In this exhortation, there are three points to be noted. First, the great deficiency in the Christian character – WISDOM. Second, the great means of getting it – ASK. Third, the great guarantee of the SUPPLY – by the giving God, whose gifts are bestowed on all liberally and without upbraiding.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God.” That is the basic Chrisitian position. In other words, this kind of wisdom comes from above; it is a gift from the heavenly Father. He alone is the source of wisdom, not the philosophers, nor the scientists, nor all the intellectual disciplines of the world. Wisdom is found only in God, but He does not keep it to Himself. He gives His wisdom to those who ask Him.

Remember when you ask God, He will supply you wisdom generously, not holding back. A story is told of the Welsh village which flooded in heavy rain. The Red Cross personnel came in a boat looking for survivors in the darkness. A man clambered out of the boat and walked gingerly up the roof of a submerged house and shouted down a chimney forlornly, “Red Cross!” A thin Welsh voice echoed back up the chimney, “We gave last week, today no!” Men can find a fault for not giving, but God never finds fault.

God reveals His wisdom to us by His Word, the Bible. However, Scripture encourages us to also seek God’s wisdom in wise and godly counsels (Proverbs 11:14), and also by observing God’s creation (Psalm 19:1). But the ultimate source of all wisdom is God Himself.

Don’t go through a day without asking God for wisdom. It is the principal thing.

Prayer: Lord, give me the spirit of wisdom to guide me in all my daily decision and choice.

DIVINE FAVOUR

“And so find favour and high esteem in the sight of God and man” Proverbs 3:4

Favour is defined as approval; a kind helpful act beyond what is due. To favour also means to endorse, to prefer, make things for someone. The favour of God can be described as, tangible evidence that a person has God’s approval at a particular time. It is God’s favour that makes all the difference in a person’s life. God’s favour:

• Promotes – like Esther, it will take you to higher levels of success and service. It will bring you to the corridors of power. One day Esther was a Jewish orphaned refugee, a year later she was crowned Queen of Persia. God’s favour caused Esther to gain the goodwill of everyone she met. A day of God’s favour is worth more than a thousand days of your labour. • Gives preferential treatment – like Ruth, Boaz will delight in you and treat you far beyond the ordinary. • Honours* – like Mordecai, King Ahasuerus will be looking for you to decorate you. It may look as if your good deeds have been forgotten but get ready, God’s favour will trouble the sleep of the king. • Restores – like Israel leaving Egypt, all your denied and stolen resources will be restored to you without a struggle and in no time. • Overrules man’s rule – like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, the eunuch and King Nebuchadnezzar will grant your request against the nation’s policy. • Gives Divine Attention – like Mary, God’s Angel will be sent with your miracle.

You need divine favour. You need preferential treatment. You need advantage. You need favour to gain access to opportunities and find success. Every child of God qualifies for Divine favour. Receive it now!

Prayer: Lord, let Your favour rest on me.

Selection Process

SELECTION PROCESS

“So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the LORD said, ‘Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!'” 1 Samuel 16:12

Life is full of opportunities that require people to be selected and appointed to play specific roles. The qualities required for holding a leadership role would typically include qualifications, skills, experience, appearance, eloquence and personality.

God’s selection criteria often looks beyond these at unseen attributes and potential qualities that only He in His infinite wisdom can see. When that happens, His choices often run contrary to conventional wisdom.

In the cases of people like Gideon, Saul and Jeremiah, they themselves could not see what God saw in them and therefore protested when God’s selection process located them.

When a king was about to be chosen for Israel, God sent the prophet Samuel to Jesse’s home to anoint one of his sons as king. Not surprisingly, upon seeing David’s big brothers like Eliab, Abinadab and Shammah, the prophet was impressed by their appearance and other credentials. God was not.

God’s choice of king contradicted the thoughts of the prophet Samuel and even David’s father, Jesse. While they focused on the outward qualities, God was looking at the inner attributes and the heart. David, was finally chosen, went on to become Israel’s most celebrated king and is described as “a man after God’s own heart.” (Acts 13:22).

This year you will be chosen. When you compete against people who seem to be more qualified, experienced or resourced than you, the favour of God can locate your potential and give you an advantage.

Prayer Ask God to locate you in the place of obscurity and bring you into your inheritance.

The Fight Of Faith

THE FIGHT OF FAITH

Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. Joshua 1:7

Living a life of consistent confidence in the promises of God’s Word takes courage. The faith walk is a tough walk, and if we want to keep living in victory, we have to be ready to fight again and again.

The children of Israel thought their battles should be over when they crossed the Red Sea. So when they heard reports of giants living in the Promised Land, they decided they couldn’t face the fight. Their courage failed them. So they took a 40-year diversion through the wilderness.

But you know what? They still couldn’t avoid that fight. When the time came for the next generation to enter the Promised Land, the giants were still there! This time, however, they found the courage to face them. Where did they find it? In the Word of God. Their leader, Joshua, had obeyed the instruction of the Lord and kept that Word on his mind and in his heart day and night. He’d meditated on it and let it constantly remind him that God was on their side.

If you’re going to fight the good fight of faith to the finish, you’ll have to do just like Joshua did. You’ll have to continually draw courage from the Word of God. So make up your mind to do it. Get into that Word and let it change you from a coward to an overcomer. Then march into battle and slay the giants on your land and take your divine inheritance.

Prayer: Lord, give me courage to fight the fight of faith and overcome the challenges the devil throws at me.

Revival

REVIVAL

O, Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years, make it known; in wrath remember mercy. Habakkuk 3:2

In this prayer, Habakkuk knew God was going to discipline the people of Judah, and though not a pleasant experience, it would be to bring them back in line with God’s spiritual expectation. He prayed to God not so that they will escape the discipline of God, but for mercy to restore and renew and revive the nation. Revival does not only mean to bring back to life, but to refresh, renew, or give new strength to a nation, a church, a group of people or individual.

During the early days of the Civil War a Union soldier was arrested on charges of desertion. Unable to prove his innocence, he was condemned and sentenced to die a deserter’s death. His appeal found it’s way to the desk of Abraham Lincoln. The president felt mercy for the soldier and signed a pardon. The soldier was restored and returned to service, fought the entirety of the war, and was killed in the last battle. Found within his breast pocket was the signed letter of the president. Close to the soldier’s heart were his leader’s words of restoration and mercy.

Habakkuk simply prayed for revival. He knew how God once worked and how His people once responded, and he wanted to see that again, back to the season when God’s blessings were upon the land. His prayer shows that revival is a work of God, not the achievement of man. Yes, there is something man can and must do for revival – simply cry to God and plead for His reviving work.

Pray that the Lord will revive His work in the nations to accomplish His purpose. Pray for personal revival and renewal to finish the year triumphantly. The Lord will release His Spirit and power on you.

Prayer: Lord, revive me once again.

Confession

CONFESSION

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

When it comes to confession of sin, believers are told in 1 John 1:9 to confess their sins to God.

There are two types of confession in the Bible: an initial confession of faith in Jesus Christ, which guarantees your salvation in Christ and the gift of eternal life; the other is an ongoing confession of our sins to God thereafter. Once a believer, you aren’t required to confess your faith every time you sin, but confess your sins to the Lord the moment you realise that you have sinned. Christians confess their sins to God to practise humility before Him. It takes humility to admit mistakes.

A child’s action may make his parents angry or sad, but it doesn’t mean he is no longer their child. Still he needs to confess to repair his relationship with his parents. The same is true for God’s children. God’s love for you does not change when you sin. You don’t lose your salvation through sin. However, to be close to God again and restore the relationship, you need to confess your sin and receive His forgiveness. This is what will help you to walk joyfully with the Lord always. When you come to Jesus with your sins no matter the frequency, there is nothing more you can do besides confessing. You are only to declare and confess what has already been paid for.

Sometimes restitution with others may be necessary, but once you confess your sins to God and ask His forgiveness it is no longer held against you. Don’t imprison yourself with guilt after you have confessed to the Lord. You are free in His sight.

Prayer: Search your heart, repent and confess your sins to the Lodd; ask for His forgiveness.

5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

FORGIVENESS

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

In the normal course of human relations, one will sin against another and expect forgiveness. Forgiveness literally means to let go, send away, and release out of your heart any bitterness you may hold as your right against someone who has offended you. It frees someone from an obligation as a result of wrong done against you without seeking revenge, even though the situation might not have changed.

An older boy in school was so abusive to the younger ones that the teacher took a vote among the student body on whether the abusive boy should be expelled. All the small boys voted to expel him, except one, who was scarcely five years old. He knew very well that the bad boy would probably continue to abuse him. “Why, then, did you vote for him to stay?” asked the teacher. The boy replied, “Because if he is expelled, he may not learn any more about God, and he will continue to be wicked.” “Do you forgive him then?” inquired the teacher. “Yes,” said the little boy, “daddy, mummy and you all forgive me when I do wrong; God forgives me too, so I must do the same to those who wrong me.”

Things we must remember about forgiveness: • The reason we forgive is because we have been forgiven and are continually forgiven. There is a bond between the Divine Forgiver and you, the forgiven believer, to forgive others. • Forgiveness is the spirit of love; one who has accepted God’s forgiveness is expected to show the same to others. • Forgive your enemies, including those who spitefully abuse you. • Forgiveness is needful for your own peace of mind; revenge is like a thorn in the flesh. • Forgiveness is one of the essentials for spiritual maturity.

Is there anyone who needs your forgiveness today?

Prayer: Ask God to set your heart and emotions free from bitterness.

_Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth. Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; the world also is firmly established, it shall not be moved.” Psalm 96:9-10

You might sometimes ask yourself, what can I possibly do for God? The answer is simple: just worship Him. Until we understand what worship truly means, we may offer God stale, lack-luster or remote-control worship? The Hebrew word for worship shacah, means “to bow or prostrate oneself before someone out of honour.” The Greek word for worship proskuneo, also depicts the custom of prostrating oneself before someone you respect or revere. The English word “worship” is derived from the Old English weorthscipe, meaning “worth-ship” or “worthiness.” All these reflect an expression of reverence to a person worthy of honour.    In biblical culture, people bowed down before those to whom they wanted to show respect or honour. The Persians prostrate themselves in honour of the deified king. The Greeks did so before a divinity. They would fall down and worship, do obeisance and worship.    In truth, God is the only One worthy of our worship. The emphasis in true worship is on a selfless act of giving, not receiving. We can worship Him by singing songs of praise to Him, speaking to His greatness and sacrificing and offering our all to Him. This most meaningful type of worship hinges on: •  God’s Position – if you believe God is great, the Creator, holy and awesome, then your heart will be full of worship. •  God’s Power – if you believe God is sovereign and ruler over all, you can’t deny Him of respect and honour. • God’s Personal Relationship – if you believe God has chosen you as His covenant child, revealed His promises concerning you and prepared an inheritance for you, then you will be compelled to worship Him for this amazing relationship.

Prayer: Lord, I worship You with all my heart.

Heart Of Service

HEART OF SERVICE

And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 11:13

One of the necessary traits to make you profitable to God is to cultivate a heart of service. The purpose of service as a Christian is to allow God to reach others through you. God saved you by grace to serve Him and others. The parable of the ‘good Samaritan’ doesn’t only reflect love but also service.

According to the Scripture, God wants you to serve with all your heart; “serve the Lord with all your heart;” this implies: • Serve Him passionately; your act of service should not be dutiful, compulsion. Passion will drive you to perfection and greater achievement. • God wants to use your gift, talent and natural abilities to serve Him and others.

People rarely serve passionately either in circular office or in church without incentives but God wants you to serve Him from the heart.

How do you know that you’re serving God from your heart?

The first sign is enthusiasm; when you’re doing what you love to do, not necessarily for reward or applause, but because of your love for the Lord. You do it for the fulfillment that comes from what you love.

God also demands with a heart of obedience. You can’t serve God and be walking in disobedience. The value of our service to God is in the heart with which we serve. A heart of rebellion can never serve God. God does not need our service, He wants our heart.

In addition to obedience, you must serve with love. Our service to God and man is not to be performed in a spirit of grumbling and complaining but cheerfully and out of love. Whenever you serve with love, you end up being effective and excellent. Remember God has given you His best; you must also give Him your best service.

Prayer: Lord, give me a heart of a servant.

Don't Worry

DON’T WORRY

_And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35

The expression of Gabriel, “The power of the Highest will overshadow you,” reminds us of the opening of Genesis, where the writer in describing the dawn of life in creation said, “The Spirit of God moved over the face of the deep.” By this he meant an extraordinary work, in which natural means have no place. Mary knew it will happen, but didn’t know how. Her question in Luke 1:34 was not an evidence of unbelief but an expression of faith. She believed the promise, but was not oblivious to the challenge. How could a virgin give birth?    At this time Mary was only betrothed to Joseph, not yet married, and knew that the conception would be difficult; she modestly inquiries; by what means the promise is to be fulfilled.    The Angel assured her that this conception shall be the extraordinary work by the Holy Spirit. The miracle-working power of the Most High shall overshadow you, to accomplish this purpose.    The power is the power of the Holy Spirit who in the beginning overshadowed the chaos and brought light out of darkness. There is nothing too hard for Him. With Him all things are possible.    Like Gideon, who questioned the power of God when the angel of God addressed him as a mighty man of valour, you may be asking: How can a barren woman give birth? How can a poor man prosper? How can a sinner be righteous? How can this marriage work? Can I pass this exam? Maybe, by your own strength it is impossible. But when the power of the Highest comes on you, all things are possible.

Prayer: Lord, let the presence of Holy Spirit overshadow me and break every human limitation.

34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”

35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
