Kip looked back up at her, feeling a bit shaken by her and her voice. “S-Sorry.” He muttered, not sure if he really meant it or not. He could almost hear his mother’s voice yelling at Blue, which scared him. “This is my bench.” He said, trying not to sound rude.

Eve shook her head and sighed at her actions and her words. “Look, I’m sorry, but it’s not like you own the bench.”

emmett looked at her and managed a small smile. “well, thanks anyway, for your kind words. still, i can’t lie and say i believe in something when i don’t.” she was incredibly cute, but unfortunately, he knew she was something that wouldn’t work for him, just like everything else in his life. “christabelle,” he echoed, “that’s pretty. well, it’s nice to meet you. i’m emmett.”

of course she blushed when he complimented her name but any boy as cute as him could say anything and she’d melt. “emmett,” she repeated. “powerful. that’s what it means. do you think it’s true?”

Kip looked up at the girl who arrived on the bench and then spoke to him. He gave her a confused look, and then looked down at the bench. But this is my place. He thought, looking back over at her. He didn’t move. He didn’t even respond, he just looked back down at the ground, knowing if he didn’t have anything nice to say, not to say anything at all.

“Hello???” she pushed, waving her hand in his face. “You’re not seriously ignoring me, are you?” Of course it wasn’t a big deal and she normally wouldn’t act this way, but damn she was in a bad mood.

Manny took the opportunity alone to hop on his desk. She crossed her legs, and leaned over to rest her elbows on her knees. She gave her teacher a specific look, and then she smirked. “I know. I’m quite experienced with… hitting all the right points.” She told him, meeting his eyes.

Easy, Jared... don’t give into temptation. It was cute; her body language spoke millions about her age. Her leaning forward so she can show a hint of her cleavage and the crossing of her legs to peek under her cheer skirt was definitely a teenager move to make. And it should have felt weird to think that, but it didn’t. Her innocence and inexperience, regardless of any past partners appealed to him. “But I’m sure you’ve never heard that from me.”

“if god loved me, he wouldn’t have put me through what i’ve been through. and continue to go through. there’s people who get tortured and murdered every day. not to mention, he’s letting donald trump run for president.” emmett let out a little laugh. then he remembered there was a beautiful girl standing in front of him, so he probably shouldn’t be an idiot. “i’m sorry, I really am. I just don’t have that faith. I’m sure someone will, though.” He gave her an attempted smile that failed in the end.

the little joke he’d made made her laugh too, but she tried to hide her smile with her hand. she understood that not everyone believed what she did, but she didn’t know why or how they just couldn’t. “he put you through whatever he did because he cared about you and he knew that’s what was best for you,” she assured, clutching the brochures to her chest. “i’m christabelle.”

“Assault.” Asha laughed in the face of the word. “I think that’s funny. Lucky for that bitch, I’m not very good at running, so.” She pulled out a cigarette as they started walking in a different direction. “Want one?” She asked him, before putting her own in her mouth and searching her pockets for her lighter. “Where we headed, Lance-o?”

“Oh, no, you know I don’t smoke.” He sarcastically reminded Asha, holding his palm out for a cigarette before taking out his own lighter to help her out. “Aw, shit, I dunno. Wanna do something stupid?”

“Spiral a…” Oh. Cato looked up from his phone and at his brother, confused. “I mean… sure, yeah, we can. I guess. But not for long, because I have plans for Dean and I can’t be getting all sweaty.”

His suggestion actually called Cato’s attention and he felt some sort of accomplishment that way. “Not even for your brother,” he joked. “No, yeah, I get it. Dean’s a cool guy, so...”

“Sorry, I just,” Franky looked down in embarrassment. “People don’t normally come up to me and randomly talk to me.” She shrugged her shoulders, as if it were a causal thing that she didn’t mind being the truth. “You would bite someone under which circumstances?” She let out a small laugh.

“Special, secret circumstances, of course. Why, do you want to find out?”

“What? Are you afraid that she’s going to take one look at me and automatically know that I’m giving you the time of your life?” He rolled his eyes, but a teasing smile remained on his lips. He wrapped his arms around her waist. Just fuck buddies. That’s true, sure. But neither of them really knew the extent to which their affections grew. Especially Jem. “Oh?” He responded, biting his lip slightly. “No, of course not.” Then he put on a devilish smirk, wanting to enjoy the teasing just a bit longer. “Of course, if that were to happen… I’m sure I could find a replacement. Since we’re just fuck buddies and everything. Just as satisfying, I bet.” The joke slid off so convincingly that even Jem didn’t realize he was lying through his teeth.

“I have no doubt you could find a replacement but to say they’d be as good as me. Now you’re lying to yourself, sweetheart.” Morgan pinched Jem’s cheek and simply brushed her lips over his. “But if you’re really so adamant about that, how’s this: two weeks and no sex from me.”

“I could probably get those!” He told her, “I promise it happened! I’ve met some celebrities; it’s the only good thing that came from my mom’s job, if I’m honest.” He smiled, giving her a small laugh.

mickey became worried then, seeing as he was trying to pull out of their conversation before it had started. “do you need a ride there?” he asked, “or company?” he tried not to scratch on his right arm too hard, which is what jaxon says mickey does when he’s in “distress”. when jaxon said that, however, all mickey had responded with was ‘rock stars don’t have distress!’. He looked at tristan, “are you sure?”

he really wasn’t allowed to bring anyone to where he needed to be. they liked their privacy more than anything. so much it affected others’ perception of them. but he didn’t want to be alone. not right now. all mickey needed to do was drop him off and then he could leave. “um, yeah, a ride would be nice.” he heavy sigh left him and he tried a smile, but it didn’t work.

“You don’t go to the parties?” Franky became suddenly embarrassed that that was the only part of the sentence she paid attention to. “What do you do then? If you don’t go to parties?” She hesitated before continuing, “Do colleges have a lot of poetry slams?” That’s what she really wanted to know. “It’s okay…” She lied, “People are… rude, I guess.”

“A lot of poetry slams. I mainly go to the robot competitions. In fact, ‘go, isn’t necessarily the right term. I’m the main competitor this year for the university.” Drew nodded. He understood what she meant. High school wasn’t exactly the time of his life either. “You interested in going to poetry slams? There’s one this Friday. You should go check it out.”

This cannot be happening. Penny thought as he continued to speak to her. She looked down at the thing she drew today, the abstract mess that she quickly put together in her AP art class. “Well… uhm, I kind of just threw it together real quick.” She didn’t know whether she should say why or not, because she didn’t know if it would be weird. “I didn’t have time to make anything better so..” She walked over to the stools, sitting next to him and passing him the art work that wasn’t her best work.

“For real quick this is pretty damn amazing.” Ash didn’t know why he’d never noticed her before. Usually with his keen eye, he’d be able to spot a pretty girl from miles away. But in a way he was glad he’d met her just now because otherwise their sharing of art would never have started. He’d never get to discover that part of himself. “May I?” He gestured to the sketchbook.
