"Apparenty my niceness isn’t a good thing all the time." Mark said, with a sigh, thinking about Lucy. "I get ridiculed for being with my girlfriend, Lucy, a lot. She mentioned you the other night - she’s the one who went on French exchange?" He asked, pausing to see if Felix would know who he was talking about. "She was going through a lot, especially last winter, and she cheated on me. But I forgave her, because we’ve been together too long for me just to throw it away. And there’s always someone who brings it up, or starts more rumors, I guess." He then shrugged, smiling over at Felix, "Thank you, though. You’re a nice guy as well."
Felix looked at Mark as he spoke, nodding to show he was paying attention. "Oh, yeah I know who Lucy is. She's nice too, I like her. She mentioned me?" He raised an eyebrow, looking at the other. "Wow, sounds like you two have been through quite a lot." he mumbled with a low whistling sound. Personally he wouldn't have forgiven anyone who cheated on him. Then again, he hadn't had anyone he was as close to as Mark and Lucy apparently was either. "That's shit. They should just leave it be. Rumours are the worst." he shook his head, looking back to his book for a brief moment. "Thank you." he smiled at the other, it was a compliment he had needed. "How long have you and Lucy been together?"
And it’s cute how hard you try to seem cool and fit in.
With the welcome I got from the people in this place, trying to fit in would be a waste of time. I don't fit in, and you've all made sure I know about it.
"Tonight You Belong to Me" it’s one of my all time favorites.
Oh, that is a good song. Nothing I'd recognise just like that, as you can see.
Trust me, I don’t care. And Taylor Swift, really? Well I guess I couldn’t expect more from you anyway.
It's cute how hard you try to convince me that you don't care.

"Yeah, I have." Mark said, looking through his own book, "It’s a lovely place but, sometimes you just feel trapped, you know?" He looked up, shrugging, "I mean, like, there’s some people here who I don’t want to see every day. I’m sure you met them already."
Felix nodded understanding as Mark spoke. He got that vibe from the place as well. It was a nice place, but he got the feeling that everyone knew everyone around here. "I know what you mean. Luckily I didn't get that in London." he pointed out, looking up from his book. "I've met a couple, yeah. Not everyone are nice here, I've noticed. You are, though. Just to have a sappy moment."
Honestly I don’t care what you think of me, or anyone else for that matter. I’ll leave your feelings unhurt for now, since I’m really not bothered. You’re feeling crap already.
You keep saying you don't care. Which only means - considering how many times you've said it - that you do care. It's like with Taylor Swift and her songs, isn't it? How considerate, remind me to send you a thank you card when I can stand up again.

"Oh yeah, I live for the stage props." Mark said with a laugh, sitting down on the edge of the stage. At Felix’s question about the assignment, he froze. "I’m…sure it will be in our notes." He said with a nod, getting his book out of his bag. "So, how are you liking Hastings so far, Felix?"
Felix chuckled at the other's comment about the stage props imagining Mark running around playing with them all by himself when he wasn't bothered studying. Felix reached for his own book, and flicked through the papers they had been given about the assignment. He wasn't sure if he had everything, cause he had dropped it on the floor right before they headed out. "So far it's alright, actually. Some people are friendly, some less friendly." he shrugged his shoulders but smiled some at the other. "All in all it's good, though. Have you lived here your whole life?"
No, not really.
Now I just have to decide if I like being compared to a fourteen year old by some British dude.
"Some British guy" I don't know if I should be offended or not.
You want me to try to hurt your feelings? Is that what you want?
That wouldn't make you look very good, though, would it? Besides it looks like you're already trying too hard, so I don't see how you """"""trying"""""" would make things any better for you.

"Hey, so I hope you don’t mind meeting here." Mark said, as the two boys entered the auditorium, heading up to the stage, "It’s a place where I can really think, you know? I write my best stuff here, so I think it’d be good for this assignment." He looked over at Felix with a grin. "Also if you get really bored, sometimes the stage props are really fun to mess with."
shaking his head, Felix followed Mark to the stage. It was an unusual place to study, he had to admit- but he didn't mind. Anywhere were better than a tiny classroom or a unfamiliar house. They tended to make Felix nervous. "You often come here to play with the stage props them?" He questioned, quirking an eyebrow. He found it hard to imagine a time where studying wasn't boring. "What are we doing, anyway? I hope you were paying attention, cause I wasn't."
Well sorry, God’s perfect angel.
Wow, if that didn't hurt my feelings, I don't know what will.
That’s quite ironic coming from someone who works in a coffee shop. You’re telling me you’ve never seen two people fall in love while at work?
I suppose it is? I haven't, no. I have seen two people get up to have sex in the bathroom stalls, but I don't reckon that counts as "falling in love", does it? Though a lot of fourteen year old hang around hoping to fall in love at some point.
The smirk on your face tells me you think it’s non-existent.
Nothing other than cliche Hollywood movies have ever tried to prove me wrong on that, so yeah. I'm not wasting much time on it, if I'm honest.
Well.. there’s people who want to fall in love and people who just like having someone in their bed.
Right. Love.
And what makes you think that?
They just all seem the same to me. What makes you think there are two types of people?
