Hi, first of all I'm completely in love with all your buildings and can't wait for Latium to be released. Sadly, I can't get the Curia Julia or the Templum Monetae to work in my game as they appear to be corrupted. I tried downloading them without any other cc (except for the required ones) to check if it wasn't a mod conflict issue but I still get an error message saying my game isn't updated (wrong because I have the latest patch and all expansion packs, also my game is original/EA, not pirated) and the buildings also seem to break the launcher a bit as the only time they appeared to have been successfully downloaded they later re-appeared in the download tab (as undownloaded) and I couldn't uninstall them.

I hope I don't come off as rude, I know how modding is intense work and can be hard, so please take it as constructive feedback from someone who's super excited to use your buildings :D

(It could also be a problem with my potato laptop)

If you're willing to be patient, I can have a few others to help me test out the CC elsewhere and see where the problem may lie. I have been encountering errors lately with some of the builds I've made and the Roman ones may have problems as well. I've no clue where the problem might

Love your Roman Build. Where can I download them. They are just what I have been looking for.

It's not currently ready for download as a whole but if you want a specific lot and can be a bit patient I might make the finished lots available for public download in a few days' time.

The city of Rome as depicted in Latium so far, There are 18 lots that have been built up from the outside, plus another 6 lots that are empty and a previous build that hasn’t been added yet, for a total of 25 lots.

The districts shown are the Capitoline, the Forum (and the first of the build’s 2 Imperial Fora), and Subura.

The Capitoline Hill has been sculpted and will receive a few more edits (terrain paints and routing, more buildings, rocks and foliage) to complete it. As for the forum, only the Regia, residence of the Pontifex Maximus, hasn’t been built yet. With the right amount of lots, this place could look convincingly like the Eternal City in its heyday under Augustus and his dynasty, even if it’s in actuality several times smaller.

I finally built the shell of the Mamertine Prison. I moved and embellished two of the insulae and moved them to the foot of the Capitoline hill.  Also, I built a smaller version of the Porticus Deorum Consentium.

This basically begins the first of the actual street scenes leading into the city center and creates a very big contrast between the Augustan Forum in its splendor and the blighted lives of the Empire’s working classes. My next task is to sculpt and landscape the Capitoline hill then work my way outward to the other geographic features.

Temple of Juno Moneta (+ Download)

Uploaded as part of a trade with @corvid-sol. I requested a reversed version of the Roman graffiti pictures they made, which included images that would look great in the walls of homes and the pediments of temples.

I consider this one of my best temples yet. The Temple of Juno Moneta is based on a real-life building that may have stood at the top of the Arx, one of the peaks of the Capitoline Hill in Rome. This temple, dedicated to the Queen of the Gods as equated with the Goddess of money, may have served as a storage house for the mints of Rome. Only a single wall survives, so I used a lot of artistic license. The temple’s layout is loosely based on a painting of the structure as it’d have appeared in its heyday.

It’s currently set as an art gallery and has no toilets (I presumed that it would be next to a public latrine in a different lot, though I could change my mind). Feel free to add those in if you want (but not at the shrines, please).

The general layout of the temples I make tend to resemble those made by @fagersims​. As with my first attempt at the Curia Julia, I left abandonware CC in place as indicated and will be removed at the request of the original creator for future iterations should they choose to return. I did provide links to them whenever possible, and only one item had to be included because I was unable to find a convenient link to it.

This lot needs World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Pets, and Showtime to work at the very least. But just in case I missed something, I have all expansions up to Island Paradise. I didn’t use any stuff or store packs for this one. I included a list of CC, which should contain everything you’ll need. Install everything listed to make the temple look exactly as it does in the pictures.

I recently updated this file to include the final piece of CC credit that I missed: Center Square Parquet by @grandelamacreations. It took awhile to resolve the site error I kept receiving, but I finally did it. The credit is also in the latest version of the file. 

The parquet is used as a trompe-l'œil stand-in for the ceiling coffers found in  many Greek and Roman public buildings.

The first of the 2 imperial fora I plan to build in Latium (i.e. those that were around during Augustus’ reign), the Forum Julium. Commissioned by Caesar himself from the spoils of the conquest of Gaul, the Forum Julium was part of his contest of one-upmanship with his rival Pompey, whose theater was also quite grand. The forum was finished long after his death by his grandnephew and heir Emperor Augustus.

The placement of many elements is tentative. I will be paring it down to make the lot a little less overly detailed. Otherwise, though, it’s done.

I shudder to think how difficult it’d be to make the other imperial Fora given how much trouble this one took to make.

A return to one of my older temples, the Temple of Saturn, which is due for a major revamp (I am not fond of its current scale, especially vis-a-vis the ridiculously slender Ionic columns EA packed it with). Historically, the Temple of Saturn used Ionic columns. I’ll be saving this version, of course, before I start playing around with it.

The pediment is where the first update is seen. Shown here are the reversed graffiti paintings from @corvid-sol. The snake painting so reminded me of the snake motif from the reconstruction of the Temple of Saturn in the Rome set of Cinecitta Studios that I had to have it mirrored.

In any case, you’ll be seeing more of this sort of pediment motif soon.

Gardens of the Roman Temple of Juno. Romans created well-planned gardens carried over from Persian and Egyptian styles. The spaces between the portico and the small shrines were turned into enclosed spaces

The finished Temple of Juno. This is a creative re-imagining of the temple as only a section of its precinct wall had survived. It may have stood at the summit of the Arx, one of the two high points of the Capitoline hill. This grand temple may have also served as a storage area for the metals used in the Roman mints.

As with the Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus, I used statues to decorate the pediment. It’s the details that really make these structures come to life. I need only to add a few more minor details (i.e. landscaping and perhaps the aforementioned metals) to finish it up.

A view of my first building from the Capitoline hill, essentially a finished version of the first Roman lot I made since the wipe: The Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus. While I ultimately had to make concessions, I tried to be as accurate as possible to the structure by including various elements introduced by reconstructions and depictions of the structure. I was not happy with the only chariot sculpture in the game so I had to improvise.

Various structures that were part of the Temple of Jupiter Complex were added to fill up the space.

The forum is coming along nicely. I finally added my second version of the tabularium and made subtle adjustments to the hilltop behind the Temple of Concordia. Meanwhile, I added another structure to the mix, the Porticus Deorum Consentium, which in most images of the forum you seen in paintings was replaced/overshadowed by the Temple of Vespasian and Titus.

While I’m not completely committed to it as of late, I have opted to sculpt most of the terrain for Latium in the interim instead of building from a map
