Summary: After a night of partying with the newly formed Bang Bang Scissor Gang, the reader wakes up next to Austin Gunn in her bed.
The sound of someone walking out in the hallway wakes you from your hangover sleep. You groggily open your eyes and blink a few times with a groan. Your head throbs in pain as you move to sit up. As you begin to move suddenly a buff arm swings over your torso and pulls you back into whoever it is.
"What the fuck?" You whisper to yourself as you get pulled back.
You slowly turn around and peek over your covers to find Austin Gunn snoring in your face. All of your sleepiness is shocked out of your body. "Austin?" You ask aloud, but the younger Gunn kid doesn't stir. "Austin!" You prompt him again, a bit louder this time, but he still doesn't stir.
Frustrated, and desperate to figure out if you slept with your trainers kid last night, you jolt up and grab your pillow from out under you. You grip the pillow hard and bring it down on Austin's head. "Austin! Wake up!" You shout.
Your pillow collides with Austin's head and he jolts up and awake. "What the hell?" Austin grumbles and frantically looks around for who just assaulted him. "YN? Why'd you just hit me?" He notices you sitting next to him.
"Why are you in my bed?" You confront Austin.
"Well I was sleeping." Austin grumbles and rubs his face. "Until I was so rudely woken up." He narrows his gaze at you.
You set your pillow down and finally take notice that you're wearing the shirt that Austin was wearing last night. You also notice that Austin doesn't have a shirt on. His bare chest stares at you for a moment before you compose yourself and speak again.
"Austin, please, please, tell me you're wearing pants right now." You ask Austin while glancing down at his legs covered by your blanket.
"I-What?" Austin replies and glances down at his lap. "I'm wearing boxers." He answers you. "Who the hell sleeps in pants? Wait, are you wearing pants?"
You scoff like it's the most unjustified question in the world. "Of course I am!" You insist. "Right?" An inkling of doubt rears it ugly head in your mind.
Carefully you pull your blanket back and find that you're wearing underwear, which isn't ideal. But at least it's something, right?
"Well?" Austin waits for you to answer the question aloud.
"What?" You reply. "I--Stop looking at me like that!" You shove Austin's shoulder.
Austin chuckles and reels back from being shoved. "Like what?" He teases you.
"Like you've seen me naked!" You shudder at the thought.
Austin continues to laugh and you feel your face heating up from embarrassment. "Austin!" You scold him. "It's not funny! Please tell me that we didn't have sex last night." You plead with him.
"I mean, all things considered." Austin grins, having a blast teasing you. "You're wearing my shirt. We're in bed together. It looks like I definitely rocked your world last night, YN."
"Fuck me." You complain, setting your head in your hands with a deep sigh.
Austin winks at you and grins. "Again so soon, YN?"
You groan again, your embarrassment only growing. You hate that you can't remember what happened last night. Plus your head is killing you from your hangover.
"Will you two please be quiet?" A male voice sounds from the foot of the bed. "My head is killing me."
"What the fuck?" You pull your feet back from the edge of the bed. "Anthony?" You recognize the voice as a tired Bowens.
Bowens sits up from his spot on the floor where he slept last night with a groan. He peers over the edge of your bed and glares at you. "No one got laid last night." He informs you. "Everyone was too drunk to make it back to their own rooms so we all slept here." He explains. "Max and Colten are over there in the corner snoring. Damn heavy sleepers."
You look over at the corner of the room and sure enough, Max and Colten are both fast asleep on the floor.
"So we didn't?" You glance at Austin.
"No!" Anthony repeats himself. "Now can everyone please be quiet?"
You watch Bowens sink back down to the floor in silence. Unsure of what to do now you sink back down onto your back with a sigh of relief. But there is also something else lingering in the back of your mind as well. Disappointment, perhaps?
Austin sinks back down into your bed as well and leans on his side to chat with you. "So...can I get my shirt back now?" He jokes quietly.
"Austin!" You laugh in a hushed tone. "I'm kind of using it right now." You gesture to your covered torso.
"But it's mine." Austin reminds you with a cheeky grin. "And I'm demanding it back." He jokingly insists.
You roll your eyes and toss your half of the blanket his way. "How'd I end up sharing a bed with you anyway?" You giggle.
"Because you love me." Austin replies with a wink.
"He won rock, paper, scissors." Anthony chimes in from the floor. "Now be quiet!"
You and Austin both laugh in hushed tones. "You still love me." Austin whispers to you. "Regardless of what grumpy down there says." He nods down to the floor.
"I guess it could have been worse." You shrug. "Caster could have ended up winning." You joke.
"Mhm." Austin agrees. "Now are you going to kiss me or what?" He asks you. "I mean, we have already slept together. So I think a kiss isn't too much to ask."
You roll your eyes as Austin props himself up on an elbow and leans over you for a kiss. You giggles and put a hand on his chest to knock him back over playfully. On the floor, Anthony is losing what sanity has left by the second. He pops up to a sitting position and tosses a pillow at you and Austin with a groan.
"If you two actually are going to fuck, I'd prefer you fished out someone else's hotel keycard and did it there." He glares at you both.
"Hey! This is my hotel room, Anthony." You remind him. "I'm gonna go take a shower." You push Austin off of you and hop to your feet.
Austin is up and out of bed like a bat out of hell. "I'll join!" He chimes with an eager grin.
"No!" You push him back onto your bed. "We didn't have sex, Gunn. And that isn't going to change anytime soon." You assure him.
"Awe, you know you love me, YN." Austin replies. "I'll get you naked in front of me eventually." He winks at you again.
You make your way to the bathroom and Caster finally wakes up from his deep sleep. "Naked? Who's naked?" He is quick to prop himself up into a sitting position.
"I hate everyone in this room." Anthony groans and pulls a pillow over his head.

It’s been five months since you left your job at AEW and now here you are, back to give this another shot. Why did you leave in the first place? Because of Colten Gunn and it’s not in a bad way. You worked as a booker and little by little, day after day you noticed your feelings towards the oldest Gunn brother was changing.
You were on the verge of falling for him.
When you first arrived at AEW, you didn’t have any intention on falling for anyone but then came Colten Gunn knocking on your little makeshift office door. Austin was preset as well but, truthfully, you didn’t notice him at first.
“Welcome to AEW!” Colten beamed, arms outstretched as if to show off the place. “We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be the first to give you the grand tour.”
You were taken aback at how excited he was to be given this task. You didn’t know what to expect when you arrived, especially with Tony Kahn being busy with boss man duties. He assured you that you would be in good hands for your first day. You expected him to send The Young Bucks or Kenny Omega or Britt Baker or Willow Nightingale to be the welcome wagon and your guide for today but lo and behold, he sent the Gunns. You’re not complaining but it definitely surprised you.
“Thanks for the warm welcome,” you smiled. Movement from behind Colten caught your attention and that’s when you finally noticed his brother. Austin was standing back watching the interaction, a small smirk playing on his lips. What’s that about? You shrugged it off and introduced yourself to them.
The Gunns showed you around and before long it felt like you all had known each other for years. It was comforting to have an instant friendship so early into your career at AEW.
Fast forward a few months and things were still great. You were booking huge matches and doing your best to help tell stories that people would remember and connect with. Your friendship with Colten and Austin was going great, although you ended up being closer to Colten in the end. Maybe that wasn’t as good of a thing as you thought.
As time went on, you began to notice your feelings changing towards Colten. No. You cannot ruin this friendship with unrequited love. You tried to bury those feelings down and pretend they didn’t exist. You couldn’t fall for arguably your best friend. Unfortunately, those feelings became too hard to hide and you knew you were in trouble. You were at risk of losing your rock. Your anchor. Your best friend.
Why are you stressing out so much about this? What if he feels the same and all is well and good? Well, you have a rule — Do not date your coworkers.
That rule is why you asked Tony Kahn for time away. You needed space from Colten to clear your head and forget about those feelings. Surely it was just some weird ‘I like him because he showed me around and has been there for me’ kind of thing. Right?
Time will tell.
You pushed open the doors to the arena AEW was at this week and started tracking down Tony. You finally managed to find him talking to some crew members on the ramp way leading to the ring. The conversation wrapped up and you cheerfully greeted him. “Hi Tony! What do you have for me?”
Tony filled you in on what’s going on in regard to your job and the matches that will be taking place tonight. He showed you to a similar makeshift office that you had on your first day. That’s when the memories came rushing back. All the times Colten hung out with you when he wasn’t needed for backstage interviews or matches. It’s all going to be fine. It has to be.
Thankfully you didn’t see Colten at all or Austin either. Some of your friends came by to welcome you back and expressed how happy they were to see you again. All felt right, even when you were packing up some things to head out in the next ten minutes…. Until Colten popped up in the doorway. Oh no. Breathe. It’s fine. You’re just friends.
“Sorry I hadn’t been able to come by and welcome you back,” he noticed your bag on your desk and you sliding your laptop in its case. “I’m about to be heading out too. Want me to walk you out?”
You tried not to look nervous as you zipped up your bag. “Y-yeah. That would be great.” Just friends. You’re just friends despite the fact that your heart is doing flips and your hands are slightly shaky. You threw your bag on your shoulder and grabbed your phone. When you looked up at Colten, he was watching you with a look you couldn’t quite place.
The two of you walked and talked about what you’ve missed. You couldn’t help but laugh at a story Colten told about how badly Austin embarrassed himself in front of this girl at a bar. “It couldn’t have went any worse. I swear his face was as red as lobster.” Colten laughed.
His laugh. His contagious smile. His gorgeous eyes. They were not helping you convince yourself that you and Colten are just friends. Get it together!
“I have a question.” Colten said once you both had arrived at your rental car. You motioned for him to continue, not trusting your voice to be steady enough to answer. “Why did you leave? Did something happen? Did someone say or do something to make you feel like you didn’t belong?” His face was covered with concern and a small mixture of hurt and anger at the thought of someone being the reason you felt the need to leave. Little does he know, he’s the reason.
You thought about how to answer for a moment, searching for the right words. “I..” you paused, taking a breath, knowing that what you were about to say would change everything. “I left because of you,” you quietly replied. You saw the look on his face — confusion, hurt, a flash of anger even appeared on his face. “It’s not because of anything bad!” You were quick to reassure him. “It was because I have this rule and you were going to make me break it. And I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t ruin our friendship.” You rambled, hoping he heard it all.
“What’s the rule?” Colten asked after a moment to let the information you just gave soak in. “I swear I didn’t mean to do anything bad or wrong or upset you.”
You took another breath and knew your rule was absolutely about to be broken. You knew in that moment your feelings for Colten weren’t going away any time soon, if ever. “The rule is don’t date your coworkers. I always prided myself on following that rule at every job I’ve ever had but then I come here and meet you and then little by little feelings changed. I could feel myself starting to—“ you cut yourself off. You didn’t want to scare him away, but honestly, it didn’t look like he was going anywhere as you finally looked into his eyes. He had this look that you’ve seen in movies. Admiration.
“You left because you were falling in love with me?” Colten’s eyebrows raised and he couldn’t resist the smile that made its way to his face. “I’ll be honest. I was miserable when you left and I thought it was just because we were close friends but the longer you were gone, Austin and Jay and Juice were convinced it was because I had fell for you. And finally, I didn’t argue with them anymore about it because I knew they were right.” Never once did Colten’s eyes leave yours. In the middle of his confession, he had taken your hands in his.
No unrequited love? No rejection? You wanted to cheer but refrained. This moment was too perfect to ruin. “I left to clear my head but now that I’m back, I know you’re worth breaking my rule for. Especially after what you just said. I was falling for you then and I’m falling for you now.”
“I’m happy you’re breaking your rule for me. I’m just curious about something though.” A smirk played on his lips. You didn’t know what he was about to ask but it was clearly going to be mischievous.
“What’s that?”
“How many more rules are you willing to break for me?”
A blush crept up on your cheeks as you playfully smacked his chest, a laugh escaping your lips. It’s clear you’re in for a ride with this one.
"Hey, Y/N, I need to talk to you," Christian told her and waved her over. Killswitch and Nick stepped away to give them some privacy. "You and Jay are finished, right? No lingering feelings I need to know about?"
A loaded question. In passing, she would roll her eyes and say he was her biggest mistake. Her closest friends knew she still pined for him. Despite the harsh words, she told him all those months ago. She was still in love with him.
"Yea, no, I'm committed to the Patriarchy. I would never do anything to compromise that," she answered honestly.
"That's not what I asked. I asked if you and Jay were done. No lingering feelings," he told her. The father of the year crossed his arms over his chest. A stern look presented on his face. He almost reminded her of her own father.
"None. He and I, we are done. I told him to get out of my life, and that was it," she informed him.
The biggest mistake of my life...
Christian nodded and rubbed his beard in deep thought. The Bang Bang Gang seemed to have the Patriarchy's number lately. They were always two steps ahead. Jay and his boys wanted their trios titles back bad.
"That's what I like to hear. That's what I really wanted to hear. I have a little errand for you. I need you to pay Jay a visit. Tell him to stay out of our business if he knows what's good for him and his boys," he told her. The tall wrestler loomed over her. There was no way she could turn down his request.
Her eyes looked up to his face. She bit the inside of her cheek nervously yet nodded. "Done. Anything else?"
"Not yet. Come back to me and tell me what happens,"
Y/N nodded and took off to find the Bang Bang Gang locker room. Christian rubbed his chin and watched her walk away. Killswitch growled lowly next to his father.
"I don't trust her either. Let's see what she decides to do," Christian assured his son.
Y/N sighed and looked at the door before her. A black sign taped to the door. Gold letters that read Bang Bang Gang decorated the simple sign. She gave herself a small pep talk before knocking on the door.
Please don't be inside....
Jay's accent called from inside that he was coming. Y/N bit her lip. Luck would never be on her side. He opened the door and paused. Confusion riddled his handsome face. His eyebrows furrowed together. "Y/N?"
"Don't look too excited. I'm here on Patriarchy business," she informed him. Jay didn't hide that he was checking her out. He leaned against the doorframe. Arms crossed over his chest. An amused smirk on his face.
"Ruffled the old man's feathers, have I? Fine, come in, and we can talk about it," Jay said. He stopped leaning against the door and opened the door wider.
"Stay out of Patriarchy business," she snipped, obviously annoyed.
"Come in, love. Your new friends may conduct their business in the open, but the Switchblade cuts his behind closed doors,"
Y/N peered inside the door. The boys weren't in there. She would be alone with Jay. There was no way this would be a good idea. Well, if she was going to prove to Christian that they were over now was the time.
"Fine, but no funny business," she spoke coldly. Anyone passing by would never assume that they had a past. Jay held the door open for her. When she walked inside the room, he winked at the camera and closed the door.
