We learnt about sexuality as well as sexual identity. They actually told us a story about this trans girl and everything she went through and how lucky she was to come from an open and accepting family and the whole class was so overwhelmingly amazing the whole time. And we talked about how we would’ve dealt with the situation ourselves and I think these conversations are also really important as well and I’m so glad we had them.

8.      A Favor Only You Can Do

When Marinette called and asked him for a favor, the only correct answer was yes. He didn’t even know what he was doing other than going over to Marinette’s house, but that didn’t matter because she was his best friend and if she needed something, he’d happily assist.

“Honey, I’m home!” he called out teasingly as he headed up to her room.

When he caught sight of her, she was beet red and her smile was forced. “Uhh… welcome home?”

Her forced smile was much more of a cringe now. Adrien felt like that was his fault because all Marinette seemed to do lately was blush in front of him. If he knew how to approach the subject of what was happening to his best friend, he would. However, he had enough social skills to know that asking a woman why she blushed all the time was not the way to handle anything.

So, he ignored it and did his best to try to make her relaxed around him by being the biggest dork possible. “You called; I came. What do you need help with?”

“Nor can I,” Marinette agreed. “I could get hanged for pretending to be you.”

“You won’t get found out,” Mylene said, though the nervousness on her face proved she had less confidence in her words than it seemed. “You’re the luckiest girl I know. Like a walking lucky charm.”

Marinette scoffed disbelievingly. “With my luck, the prince will end up picking me.”

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but in regards to your discovery of your sexuality or gender identity, take your time. You owe it to no one to have it all figure out and you certainly owe it to no one to come out. Your sexuality is a part of you but it doesn’t define you and I know it can be hard because when people know that’s all they see you as, so just take your time.
