What I want the general viewership to understand and accept is that Robby is not in a good place. He’s been steadily going downhill for ten whole months, despite speaking with at least two therapists. Nearly every day he’s in an environment that forces him to relive every traumatic event he’s dealt with while working as a doctor in The Pitt.

Robby is no longer palatable to the average viewer because he’s outwardly showing signs of deteriorating mental health. He’s snappish and impatient. He’s not gentle or endlessly empathetic anymore, because he simply doesn’t have the capacity to care for everyone else’s mental health when his own is circling the drain.

Anyone who’s ever been in an active mental health crisis learns pretty quickly that people will abandon you the moment your behavior stops being comfortable for them. When you’re no longer easy to deal with, they disappear. In this case, it’s the audience struggling to cope with Robby no longer being “fun,” or being nice to their favorite blorbo.
