Light? Dark? Inbetween

The day you told me that I had changed I didn't want to hear it I thought that you were exaggerating. But you weren't I had started to shape myself into something dark, into something where all of my light was stuffed down deep hidden away. I didn't want to see it because I was afraid. I changed and my clothes became darker my speech harsher, there was a coldness to me that shouldn't have been there. It scared me but it wouldn't stop. I finally broke out of that toxic hold, and it felt like a breath of fresh air. I'm still dark, but light shines through. My eyes sparkle again, I laugh with genuine mirth, and I'm no longer afraid of who I am. Because now I'm Inbetween and that's okay.
