One of my favorite charecters to write
This is my baby. My first book came out last year and as I am working on the final touches of the second book I thought I would share the graphics of my first book. My passions and I are closer then ever, as I have realized my worth and intelligence. #blackgirlmagic
Who is your muse?
Music and nature seem to have become my muses. A new song can spark my creativity for certain scenes that I write. Anything with a slower beat often times causes me to write some heartfelt moment between two characters. It gives me a chance to slow down and really express what kind of character I am writing about.
However a strong beat usually with a large variety of instruments bring out my adrenaline. In moments like this I am most inspired to write some sort of action scene. It can be complicating sometimes to describe the full action scene in a way that everyone can envision. Leaving certain things out when describing a crazy important scene can change what is meant to be perceived in that moment.
This picture was inspiring to write one of the scenes in my second book Anarchy. Visuals are one of the best tools that I can use when writing. I get an idea and then I search for something similar. Once I have found something either close to what I imagined or better, I get to work describing what I see. When I am writing I am very inside my head, meaning little distracts me. I can write in a room full of loud people if I can find my prime concentration level. Sometimes it doesn’t work every time, that’s when visuals come in handy it gives me a place to start. This also helps with character building, sometimes I like to see what this hairstyle may look like on an actual person. Things like stock photos and Youtube have become essential to writing a great scene. Without these muses I don’t think my vision would ever be described properly.

Q and A
What made you want to start writing?
My Answer: I had a rough childhood and my world wasn’t peaches and cream. Books were a way of escape, something new that cost me nothing. Stories took me on journeys that I knew is real life I would never be able to take. Authors gave me hope that there was still something beautiful about a world that seems so filled with hate.
2. How does it feel to be a young published author?
My Answer: I am in awe. All my life I kept hearing if you work hard then one day everything you desire with come to you. I didn’t think this would come so soon, I wasn’t prepared. I didn’t realize the full responsibility of being a published author at first. Everyone wanted to be able to relate to someone else of not feel like their the only one experiencing something. Writing keeps us in touch with one another anonymously; No one has to know what book you relate to, its your personal business.
3. What’s the most important point your trying to show your audience?
My Answer: That genres and character types are not specific to race. There are certain things that only certain cultures experience but that isn’t that same as saying certain races can not be written into certain genres. I believe that when you think that way your creative mind has limitations. Imaginations are meant to be limitless, nothing should put a barrier on something so pure.
4. What is something that you hope to see improve in the writing world?
My Answer: More involvement. I notice that people don’t always support everything. Being on the production side of literature I realize how much time, energy, and serious money go into this lifestyle. So when people say they support your craft but don’t buy your work it can be a bit insulting.
5. If there was one thing that you could change in the world with one snap what would it be?
My Answer: How much we love one another. I think a lot of the hate comes from a lack of love somewhere in people's lives. The quote, “Hurt people hurt people” is so important in Today’s world. A lot of people in the world have grown up being put in situations that forever damaged them. Some heal on their own over time and some still struggle everyday. Then their are some that are so focused on the hurt in the past that they don’t see the hurt they give others in the present. Love is kind, confusing, hard, misunderstood but most of all it’s universal.
With all my love,

What am I working on?
Currently I am working on the third installation of the series I am writing. The Second book #Anarchy will be out this summer.
Watching She’s gotta have it on Netflix has made me realize I don’t put enough time into my craft. Time to sit in the sun and create. #melanin
Just a little something something for you guys.
