Creative writing exercise (or maybe a poor attempt at fiction?)

“FUCK”

I say it aloud.

“FUCK”

And again. I let the word sit in the air for a moment.

Like having a bucket of freezing cold water thrown over me, hearing the sound of my own voice suddenly brings me to. Awakening me from a nightmare I don’t remember falling asleep to. As a matter of fact I don’t recall much of anything whatsoever right now. Though my surroundings are far from foreign to me, and I am among familiar faces, I’ve simply no idea when, or how it was that I got here. I am a logical person, but I simply cannot make heads or tails of any of this. And the worst part? I don’t think anybody around me even realises. Inside I am screaming. Like an electrical current, pulsating through me are the pained sounds of primal, animalistic roars. Nobody can hear me though. What I really want to say is “How did I get here?”, and “Somebody, anybody! Please just take me back to before!” - but ‘before’ might as well not exist. For as of right now it’s a place I can’t describe - it’s whereabouts remain unknown to me. Fearful, I rack my brain for answers, but find only questions. Questions like - ‘How am I to piece together this puzzle if I don’t know where to begin?’ Perhaps that’s the reason that when I speak, all I can manage - once more, is “Fuck”.
