mannequin pussy is actually doing what SOME people think gerard way is doing. send tweet
you know it’s funny like. as much as dog metaphors are a cliched (white) trans/queer art trope, the rabid dog as a fuck-you resistance symbol really hits when people do, indeed, treat you like you’re a rabid dog

It comforts me that you have bad music taste, because you are a bad person, and I like to think bad moral character and bad music taste are connected. But every so often you post something good. I hope those are just accidents. Or maybe they reveal a tiny sliver of goodness within you.
What I don’t want to believe is that music taste and morality are unrelated. I’d rather believe the universe has an order, and that music taste is one way to tell good people from bad.
I’ll be more direct: you posted a Strawberry Switchblade song. Why? Did you post it by mistake, meaning to post bad music instead? Or did you post it because it reflects the small part of you that is good? Or did you mean to post it, proving that good music and good character have nothing to do with each other?
I'm getting hate mail from a Protestant Strawberry Switchblade fan
idk what white mcrblr did this time but i’m taking it as a sign i should get serious about that server for mcr fans of color. so. just to gauge interest:
would you, nonwhite mcr fan reading this, join a mcr discord server specifically for poc
yes
maybe
no
no white people button but if you wanted to reblog this for reach that would be cool
also if anyone would be potentially willing or interested in helping me moderate such a server, even if you don’t have any experience doing so, please hmu
hi everyone, thank you for voting and spreading this poll! i’m incredibly gratified by the response as this has been an idea i’ve been thinking about for months now.
however—here’s the deal. if the vote counts are to be believed, there are already enough people interested that i absolutely cannot do this without a team of mods. i understand that this is not something just anyone can commit to—it’s honestly been my biggest reservation about trying to make the server a reality. but it’s definitely necessary.
so i am once again asking that anyone interested in helping to moderate this hypothetical server reach out to me. additionally, if anyone (including white ppl for the following) has links to guides or tips for moderating discord servers, or if you have experience being a mod and would be willing to discuss your experience with me, please reach out as well.
thank you <3

the post-2019 Big and Greedy discourse with regard to mychem is interesting for reasons other people have already posted about but I'd be interested to know if the same discussion is happening online for bands in similar spheres of popularity and audience. while no artist's career is a 1:1 comparison to another, are we being consistent with the critique for Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, idk, Korn? also are we talking about these wack-ass 3-day cruises? idk
there's points to be made about sample size and selection bias here. I'd be interested in research into who, if anyone, has purchased tickets, after 2020, of more than two bands in that list. in my experience many Online my chem Fans don't follow another Big Name Artist within the rock/alt genres - with Fall Out Boy being an occasional exception.
Coheed is an interesting outlier for reasons I don't have time to type out on mobile, but I think a lot about how they've moved recently. for someone else to talk abt tho
