My last composer Milton Babbitt was in to electronic music and made it sound good with what he had.  I chose to listen to “Ensembles for synthesizer” and I absolutely love electronic music, so this piece was okay, but I know what they are trying to get across. Some people don’t apricate this music, but I think it is so fascinating. I like how there are so many different sounds because it is so hard to make all those different sounds. My favorite part throughout this piece of music was around the 8 min mark because it reminds me of robots/transformers. The best part of electronic music is being there live, and I couldn’t imagine a EDM concert back in the day. I would recommend upcoming DJ’s to check him out because he could definitely help out with some original ideas.

I chose to listen to Samuel Barber violin concerto Op. 14, which starts out with a violin playing a beautiful solo then has more join in. The tempo is very slow and calming throughout the piece and is great music to study for. Barber shows constant and dissonant intervals throughout his piece by keeping it calm and then changing the tempo, but he still makes it sound perfect. I would consider the theme uplifting and peaceful because it just makes you want to get something done in a good mood. I would recommend Samuel Barber to any violin lover because he composes a beautiful piece. I chose this image because it shows how much thought he would put in to all his work.

Hungarian Rhaposdy No. 2 by Franz Liszt and was composed in 1847 and published in 1851. The song starts out with a piano playing with a dark theme. It has multiple pauses throughout the piece, that I am not a big fan of. I do like the dynamics throughout the piece to help exaggerate his theme. His piece has a soft texture with a happy genre. In the third movement I love how up pace the tempo is alongside the pitch is high. Makes it feel like something happy is about to happen. By the last theme, the tempo is at its fastest and it sounds so good. He is so musically talented on the piano its crazy. After listening to his music I have to learn the piano because he makes it sound so good!

Mozart Symphony No. 40 is a great piece of work with a happy up pace tempo. It is one of only two symphonies he wrote in minor keys in 1788. In the first movement the tempo is molto allegro. I love how in the second movement he goes to a slower pace and so on until 4thmovement the tempo is allegro assai. I really like the 2ndand 3rdmovement with how calm and makes you want to sway back and forth. Mozart is super talented and always finds ways to make me like his music the more I listen to it. The dynamics of this piece really make it special by how much it ranges. The minor keys play a big role and help express this piece much more. I suggest listening to this if you need to study.

Franz Liszt La Campanella was a beautiful piece of music starting with consonant melodies. The dynamics of the piano in the first theme is outstanding with that high pitch you hear. The tempo gradually gets faster throughout the piece.  In each them the tempo gets faster, and the pitches of the notes get higher. It’s a very calming piece.  It has a soft texture with a calming happy genre. My favorite is how it starts off because you think its about to be this little soft song, then the beat just gets faster and faster while the pitches of the notes get higher and higher. Almost makes you want to dance in circles around something In the second theme. By the last theme the tempo is so fast it’s like you should just tap your feet to the rhythm. This is by far my favorite piece and it makes me want to learn piano because how fast he is, he makes it sound good.

I chose to listen to Erlkonig by Schubert and it is a short piece with awful singing. I have no idea what they are saying but the solo pianist is beautiful sounding. It has a dark meaning with a fast tempo. Its like he is telling a story about somebody running from fear of some sort by the way the piano is being played. It sounds dissonant because of the story being told and helps explain the story better. My favorite part about this piece is the way it starts off by the piano playing at a fast tempo but changing its pitch. Makes the piece start off like something big is about to happen. This piece reminds me of EDM music by how it makes it seem like there’s about to be a beat drop but it drags on into another theme. Theme The pianist represents the horse while the boy is represented by high noted and cry’s out by the father. Schubert entice the boys melodies in major scales. The genre is supernatural tales that was in the Romantic era.

Third Post:

Spring by Antonio Vivaldi is a gorgeous piece of music and he backs it up for sure. The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi. He composed this work in 1725 and is known as Vivaldi’s most popular pieces in Baroque era. The theme of the song is based on the four seasons but specially Spring. It has a happy melody to it with consonant tone. The tempo is up beat but takes pauses in between themes to exaggerate what’s going on. The dynamics of this piece really make it special by how much it ranges in such little time. The texture is polyphony with short melodies that are complex. It’s a concerto because the slow-fast-slow movements which also helps convey emotion to the listener. This song gives off burst of energy when the dynamics change, which makes it interesting to me. I like his music and the way he expresses it.

2nd Blog:

I chose Beethoven 9thsymphony which starts with soft tempo then gradually gets louder. A lot of energy is expressed in this piece. This would make the genre a uplifting and courageous with lots of meter changes. It helps express its mood in this piece. The dissonant intervals exaggerate his work so much more. Beethoven symphony would sound better to me if he if the tempo was slowed down. The main the theme really helps this work express what’s going on because when the meter changes you can easily hear it. Beethoven really emphasizes when he changes into each theme which helps listeners understand his piece of work. Beethoven was truly amazing because of all the work he did deaf. Nobody in todays society would even try to work with music deaf, he truly is a musical genius. I chose this image because he is deaf but can still feel the music.

I chose to listen to Mozart 25th symphony. He wrote this at 17 years old!  I liked how the tempo started off fast in the first theme then gradually gets louder. This symphony has a engertic feel to it, like over coming obstacles or something I could work out to. With every pause in between themes, you can take a breather but when the music starts gradually coming back the meter changes and gives energy off. Mozart shows consonant and dissonant intervals throughout this piece by keeping it calm and then many instruments join in to make it crazy and I really enjoy his music because he can do both and make it sound good. The minor keys play a big role and help express his music . Mozart rhythm graduating gets faster which expresses this piece so well. I would suggest listening to this if you need to get something done. Mozart is referred as a goat in todays terminology.
