Some pedestrians were trapped in the middle of traffic, in Central Jakarta. In this country (even in Jakarta, the capital, the most leading city), pedestrians aren't the priority when crossing the road. Zebracrossings aren't adequately provided, both in quantity and quality (supporting facilities like traffic light, pedestrian crossing button, etc). In crowded traffic, pedestrians need to wait patiently and coutiously, until the drivers and riders willing to give the way. But then, even if traffic light is available, often, the allocated time for pedestrian to cross the road is not fair. Either they must wait too long or they must run when crossing. Or both! (Sadly, when pedestrian bridges are available, often, people don't like to use them because they are so long that the distance will be twice or more!) Yet, we survive, though!
