This book has been intrinsic in my ability to put myself out there and reframing my belief system. If you’re not familiar the original was written by Maxwell Maltz, who while working as a plastic surgeon discovered a link to a person’s perception of their physicality and their experience in life. He found some people after plastic surgery for the first time truly felt like themselves and others whose feelings of low self worth were not “fixed” after surgery. If nothing else, I’ve learned you are enough as you are already. In the personal growth community and as an artist, it’s easy to feel like you’re never enough, there’s more to do, and more ways to grow. This is true and valid. However, it’s also important to be rooted to a sense of self. You are enough as you are right now. Growth is important and is a natural process of life, but developing a sense of ease is life changing. I’ll say it again, you are enough.
