I don’t think I’d be the only person. You really are a good person, Frannie. Why don’t you think so?

It didn’t really bother Finn that he had invited his mother to such a small event. Carole would have shown up for anything. Plus, spending time with her was always good. He didn’t like to point it out or anything, but he was an obvious mama’s boy. It was hard not to be when he had such an amazing single mother. Finn let out a soft chuckle as he was greeted by Jules and his mother, blushing slightly as he felt Jules’ lips hit his cheek. “I didn’t feel like a rockstar,” he sighed out, shaking his head. “It definitely felt awesome though.” He reached up to run his fingers through his curls as he smiled over at his mother. “I’m glad you could make it. Both of you. I needed the support.”
Large grin plastered across her face, Jules gently squeezed Finn’s arms, before letting go and taking a step to the side to allow his mother to wrap him up in a congratulatory hug herself. “Well, you looked like one,” Jules repeated. She leaned closer, whispering loudly enough for Carole to hear, “Your mom totally cried.” She grinned toward Finn’s mother. “We’ll always be your biggest supporters. Stella, too. I’m sure she was cheering you on.” Jules knew Finn and his sister liked to tease each other, but they were also incredibly supportive, too. “Are you gonna come sit with us for the second half?” Without even giving him the chance to respond, she reached out to lace her fingers through his, tugging him closer. “You know, you should try out for The Last Five Years. I don’t know how many other male parts there are in it or if it’s just supposed to be Cathy and Jamie, but if there are supporting roles, you have to do it.”

It’s okay, I’ll be fine. I love being around my family, well, my mom but as I said, Dallas isn’t where I am meant to be. My parent’s don’t know my sexuality and my dad hasn’t been okay with Cole and I sharing a bed since we were like 13. Yeah, that sounds like it would be awful. I truly hope you don’t have to go through that at all.
Understandable. I love my family too, but they can definitely be a lot. Oh man, so do you think it’s something you’ll ever be able to tell them about? I wouldn’t be able to tell my parents if I had a girlfriend, I don’t think they’d ever accept it unfortunately. Which is super conflicting, because like, I love them, I just don’t agree with their views.
Okay, so perhaps this was a smaller event than Jules had initially expected, but that didn’t mean inviting Finn’s mom along to watch was a total bust. Carole seemed to be enjoying herself, and Jules definitely saw her tearing up throughout Finn’s performance, and she was willing to bet she’d do the same about Stella’s after the intermission, so she was glad she’d thought to buy her a ticket. Plus, the money was for a good cause, right? So, no harm done. Jules liked having someone to gush about her best friend with, anyway, and took Carole by the hand once intermission was called, tugging her along beside her to go wait by the stage for Finn. “See, what’d I tell you?” Jules grinned once Finn came close enough, letting go of Carole’s hand to fling herself forward and wrap her arms around him. “That song made you look like a total rockstar.” She pressed a congratulatory kiss to his cheek, before pulling back, hands resting on his arms. “How was it? Did you have fun? You totally looked like you were having fun.”

I swear I’m such an idiot! I am 100% sure I strained a muscle in my leg. See I was on my way back from class, and tripped over someone’s bag outside, and hit my leg and face pretty hard. I rushed back to my dorm immediately with a bloody nose, and now my leg is hurting to walk on. I’m thankful I have this weekend to rest since I don’t have to work, so hopefully it should be better in the next couple days. I really need to watch where I’m going!
Oh no, that doesn’t sound like the most fun experience! Do you need to see a doctor? What if you somehow broke it?
joieanthonyswanson·:
It’s great coming back here, while I love Texas, it just doesn’t truly feel like home anymore. Granted, I have only ever visited the place that feels like home to me but still. The freedom is amazing, plus if I was back in Dallas, I couldn’t wake up next to my boyfriend every morning. Hell yeah we are, one day everyone at this school will be from Texas. It’ll be crazy. Yeah, cause it feels super risky telling a friend. Cole just got lucky when he revealed he liked me that I liked him back. Very true, it would suck if we were like 50, married to other people but still in love with each other but never say anything. I try.
Aw no, really? That makes me sad that your home doesn’t feel like home to you. I do get it, though. Why wouldn’t you be able to wake up next to your boyfriend, is it something your parents aren’t onboard with? If that’s the case, I’m sorry, that’s something else I completely understand. I think both of you were lucky in that sense, it seems like it worked out super well for you! That’s something that scares me, being 50 and in a marriage that isn’t what I truly want. It’s super sad that people actually do that, huh?
franniexfabs·:
You never know. Plus, it could be a nice surprise if he’s had a bad day too! Not just to butter him up.
You’re proving to be a nicer person than me, I was just doing it so we could get our way. Poor Finn, maybe I don’t give him enough credit.
taeyangchoi·:
The restaurants name is Korea House. It was definitely the best I’ve found since moving here,
Awesome! I’ll definitely have to check it out. Is it far away?
franniexfabs·:
I will get to scouring Amazon right now! It can be like a rainy day fund, honestly.
Definitely a good idea. I feel like Finn Hudson doesn’t take too much buttering up anyway, but it’s always good to have something in place just in case.
joieanthonyswanson·:
I sometimes like going home to visit, I did leave halfway through Winter Break though. Ohio is…Ohio. After graduation I wouldn’t exactly be upset if I never returned here. My brother also goes here! So add him to the mix! Yeah, I think the feelings were always there anyways we just refused to acknowledge them so we dated other people. At least for me, I can’t speak for him. You still never know, you could think that, reunite with them and the whole thing changes. Life is like that.
Oh, me too, I love going back home. It’s nice to then come back here, though. Not necessarily because it’s Ohio, it’s just nice to be away from home, you know? Not that I don’t adore my family, but I like the freedom of college. Dang, we’re really taking over now, huh? That makes sense, I think if I had feelings for a friend I’d probably try to swallow them down too. I’m glad you both came to the realization you did sooner rather than later, though! You have a very positive outlook, huh? I like that.

Finn could not help but playfully roll his eyes at Jules. Even though he knew she was right. Neither one of them could really live without the other. Ever since they’d met Jules had been a pretty huge staple in his life and he could not picture it without her at this point. And he loved their friendship, even if he did find himself harboring feelings for her. They were usually pretty easy to ignore. It was slightly more difficult to ignore when she was sitting on his kitchen counter the same night she’d described having sex on kitchen counters. “Nobody’s going to kidnap you. You’re too annoying,” he joked, shaking his head. A small sigh escaped from his lips as he shrugged his shoulders at her. “It’s just easier for me if I don’t have to make the first move at all. Trust me. It shouldn’t surprise you to know that I’m not very smooth,” he joked with another shrug of his shoulders. He sent a small smile in her direction as she used him to hop off his counter before reaching for the bottle of red wine. It did not take long for him to fill her glass before putting it down and reaching for his bottle of rosé. “Of course, I’m going with rosé. Red is going to give me a headache. It always does.”
Jules found herself playfully scowling at Finn a lot, so the expression she proceeded to shoot his way was really not at all surprising. “Boy, you are going to be so sorry if I get kidnapped now,” she teased, going back to her phone briefly. Of course, she wasn’t planning to sit here and scroll through Tinder the entire time, but she could respond to conversations, right? She was sure Finn wouldn’t mind, it was nothing out of the ordinary for them to do their own thing while hanging out together. It was easy for her to see Finn’s point; the entire time she’d known him, she had never seen him make any kind of first move with a girl. “Okay, true. I’m sure you’d have no problem on Tinder, though. People would see your adorable face and they’d message you right away.” Jules reached up to playfully ruffle Finn’s hair—a feat really, given their height difference—then watched as he poured out the wine for her, with Jules immediately taking a sip. “Did you know a glass of red wine a day is supposed to prolong your lifespan?” She mused, leaning back against the counter. “Also, while I’m here, you should practice your song for the miscast concert. I can’t wait to hear it.”
taeyangchoi:
Really not sure I can explain the level of excitement I felt today at finding an authentic Korean restaurant that's nearby.
Ohh, that’s awesome! What’s the restaurant? Was the food good?
franniexfabs·:
It feels like it’s lightyears away. Hmmm… that could be a good idea… unless but then who knows who would show up, y’know? I like the Finn idea more. And chex mix isn’t too expensive. I’m sure I can find it in some bulk package and bring it to him.
Ughhhhh, I know, I was just trying to pretend to be positive. I agree, using Finn’s place is definitely the better option. Amazon probably sell it in bulk, we should stock up now to sweeten him up.
joiefinnyd·:
Finn could always be himself around Jules. Well, he was the type of guy that tried to be as authentic as possible all the time, but he was also a people pleaser, so those two sides of him usually didn’t mesh well together. He didn’t have to worry about being a certain way with her. He knew that she just liked him for him. “You don’t think I could live without you?” He teased, letting out a soft laugh. He started searching for his corkscrew before realizing that the wine bottle was already open. He reached for the top and unscrewed it as his eyes watched as she climbed onto his kitchen counter. “Right there,” he breathed out, taking a moment to collect his thoughts and get his mind back on track. As soon as he’d seen her up there the only thing he could think about was her sex life and he didn’t want to focus on that. “The chex mix. You can just leave them right there on the counter.” He turned around, not wanting to look at her up there, actually not being able to look at her up there anymore. Reaching for his wine glasses, he pulled them out of his cabinet and placed them down on the counter before turning his attention to her phone. “You came all the way over here to swipe on Tinder? Rude,” he teased, squinting his eyes as his read the guy’s bio. “Seems like a loser,” he shrugged. “I’m more of a Bumble guy. I like when the girl makes the first move.”
“Nope, I think my boys need me,” Jules shrugged, sending a grin down toward Ringo. “Isn’t that right, buddy?” Truthfully, at this point she probably couldn’t live without them. Finn and Ringo were already a big part of her life, they were in it for the long haul. She’d been entirely comfortable around Finn from the moment they’d met; he’d slipped into her life easily, so making herself at home in his home was just second nature to her by this point. There seemed to be something off about him, though, she noticed as she shot a glance his way from her position up on the countertop. Juliet’s brows tugged together slightly, but regardless, she set the package down beside her, putting her focus onto her phone. “Sure I did,” she smirked, glancing up from her screen to glance at Finn. “I need your big brotherly opinion, what if I go on dates with these guys and they kidnap me or something? You’d never forgive yourself.” Rather than swipe either direction, she simply locked her phone, setting it down beside her. “You know girls can make the first move on Tinder too, right?” She questioned, brow arching as she reached out to grab ahold of his arm, using it to steady herself as she hopped down from the counter to go grab one of the wine glasses. She gently squeezed his arm in appreciation, before letting go. “Are you drinking red? Or are you totally set on your lame rose?”

Texas basically is like it’s own country in general. If I wasn’t so set on New York and Broadway, I’d stay. I loved Texas. Cole is also from Texas! So two other Texans! I am too, it just took a million and two years. Maybe even funny considering how many SO’s we’ve had that have broken up with us because they were jealous of the other. I’m sure you will, who knows, maybe even with someone you knew at the age of 5 that you somehow lost contact with. Oh cool! He was super nice, can’t wait to see him dance and see if he is as bad as he says.
That’s very true, it really is a whole other world. I love it too, I always like going back home to visit. I do like it here in Ohio, though. Oh yeah, it’s like we’re taking over suddenly! My sister also goes to school here, so that’s another Texan to add to the mix. I think sometimes you need that time to figure things out, though, you know? Like, I definitely believe things happen for a reason, so you needed those failed relationships before it was the right time for you two to work things out. Hm, here’s hoping! I don’t think there’s anyone around here that I’ve known since that age, though. Maybe once I’m done with school and head back home, but I guess we’ll see. I feel like everyone I’ve known since the age of five, I look at as a sibling by now.
joiefinnyd·:
Every part of Finn wanted to just forget that he’d had that super awkward conversation with Jules. Even though, he was certain that it wasn’t at all awkward for her. He was the one making a big deal out of it, but that’s just how it was when you weirdly had feelings for one of your best friends. She didn’t always pick up on how weird he could be around her. Things would be different once she actually arrived. He could be a lot smoother and a lot calmer in person. He would have to be. It wasn’t like he could text her and tell her not to come over. First of all, she would not have listened. And second of all, he wanted to hang out with her. “I’m sorry this crazy lady’s back,” Finn teased as he leaned down to lightly pet Ringo. “We just can’t get rid of her, right bud?” A small chuckle left his lips as he shook his head, reaching out to take the wine from her. “I’m going to get some glasses out of the kitchen. You can either park yourself on the couch or follow me. My house is your house. You know the drill.”
Jules knew she was definitely way more open than a lot of people, and that apparently included Finn. So, their conversation hadn’t fazed her, though she could tell it was making him a little uncomfortable. She was sure he’d be fine once they were together, though, so she wasn’t going to make a big deal about it, and proceeded just as casually and comfortably as ever, shooting a playful glare his way as she heard him talking to the dog. “You’d be so sad without this crazy lady around,” she shot back, going back to focusing on the dog once Finn had taken the wine bottle, fingertips scratching behind Ringo’s ears. Jules really did not need any kind of invitation to make herself at home, but she appreciated it regardless, and finally pulled herself upright, peeling off her jacket as she made her way through to the kitchen to join Finn. “Where’d you want this?” She asked, producing the snacks from her pocket, before draping her jacket over the back of a free chair, then making her way over to the counter, where she proceeded to hoist herself up and make herself comfortable, legs hanging over the edge. Naturally, her phone had continued buzzing all day, so now was no exception, and Jules quickly slipped it from her back pocket to open the Tinder notification, humming to herself in the process. “Oh, awkward, I’m sure I have classes with this guy.”
franniexfabs·:
I mean, of course! I’d say… April. Whoops. Well, we should get someone else to throw a party and then we both would get out of doing too much for it. I don’t want to intrude on your night with Finn. But you should convince him to throw a party and then we get food, wine, dog, and more people to talk and hang out with.
I guess that’s not super far away... If it wants to make an appearance before then, though, I won’t complain. That’s probably a good idea, maybe we should make a post online and just hope someone volunteers to let us do it at their place. Oh, or that, I’m sure Finn would be fine with one at his place! I’ll ask him while I’m over there. All we have to do is bribe him with chex mix and we’re good to go.
