“Library or Gym. Either of those because I can’t seem to find them.”
“Well the gym is nearby so we can go there. Just follow me, I’ll get you there.”
“Really? Huh, okay. Thank you.”
“No problem, I’ve got some time to waste. So, where you ya need to go?”
“I’m not quite sure how to get around here just yet. Mind helping me out a bit? I think I have some candy if you want payment.”
“As much as I enjoy candy, I’m more of the ice cream type. I like my treats cold, but I’ll show you around without payment.”
“My father isn’t devious. He’s…determined. With some less than perfect morals. But what else do you expect from a thirteenth son? I’m second born so I’m already second best. Couldn’t imagine being thirteenth. As for your throne, I have no interest in it. Not that it would matter if I did. That’s an alliance that will never happen.”
“He sure was determined to murder my mother. I am the first born so I take on the responsibility as future king. I share the same responsibility my mother did then. I wasn’t talking about an alliance because that will probably never happen.”
“I know you do and I’m proud of that, I hoped you wouldn’t goof during class hours. I have to, you’re my child.” She threw him a little wink.
“Well what if I stop goofing off and my grades drop?” He question, letting out a small chuckle. “So luck to have an awesome child like me.”
jack raised both eyebrows, his son’s ability reminding him of what he was like before. he couldn’t help but feel a tad annoyed at his son’s arrogance, since normally, the joy of snow was his thing. and his wife’s, too, but he took pride in calling himself ‘old man winter.’ “-cute. very cute. think you can beat me at my own game. i get it.”
Jonis skated around his father, gracefully like his mother taught him. His first steps were on ice and from that moment on he was taught to ice skate. He wasn’t as good as his mother, but he still managed to look good. He use to watch his mom skate for hours as a young kid. “I don’t know if I can beat you or now, but I sure am going to try.”
“Everyone around here seems to think that. One day it’s going to bite you in the ass.”
“I’m a straight A student though. I goof off in class but actually do my work.”
“Oh, nothing. Just a bit of…family drama. The usual ‘my dad tried to usurp the throne from your mother and your aunt back in the day’ sort of thing. Nothing against you personally. You’re annoying in your own special way, totally separate from them.”
“Aw yes, I know very well of the events in which you are talking about. The whole trying to kill my mom thing. I’m sure you are less devious than him. At least I hope so, seeing that I am the next in line for the throne. I’m only joking of course, I know children are always like their parents.”
“Oh. You’re one of theirs. Joy. Should have expected as much, I guess.”
“What do you mean by one of theirs?”
“Whose kid are you anyway? Probably a hero kid, with how badly they apparently dropped the parenting ball. Even I’ve got better manners when the time calls for it. In most cases.”
“I am a hero kid but I’m not much of a hero myself. My parents are Mr and Mrs Frost, Jack and Elsa as they are also known as. They are both teachers here and are always bugging me.”
he rolled his eyes, turning around and explaining to the rest of the class, “alright, kiddos, since the kid in the front decides he wants to be wowed - we’re gonna wow him. or, i am. desks, against the walls.” the shuffling of chairs and tables led to jack reaching in the closet, pulling out the curled staff and standing in the middle of the room, heavily hitting the butt against the floor. snow now quickly piling in the room and students urging to run forward, jack looked over and asked, “wowed yet?”
Jonis watched as his father did his thing. The room became colder as snow covered the floor. He couldn’t feel the cold but he saw the other students’ breath. He chuckled a bit, shaking his head. “Aww come on pops, you gotta do better than that. This is just kid stuff.” He bent down and picked up some snow. He rolled it into a ball in his hands. “How about we do this.” As he took a step, tossed the snow ball at his dad the floor became covered in ice. Judging by his snow white hair, Jonis had inherited the snow power from his parents.
“I get it, so funny.” She said emotionless “Don’t joke about school Joni. I swear you’ll be the death of me.” A little smile escaped her.
“Hey, I have straight A’s in all my classes. I goof off in class but I do my work.” He gave her a bright smile. “You deal with me because you love me.”
“Excuse me? You will take it seriously, and ‘get your nap in’ at night when you’re suppose to.”
“Chill out mom, get it chill...never mind. Anyways,I was only joking around.”
“c’mon, kid. wake up.” he slammed his hand loudly on the desk, hoping to at least jolt his son somewhat awake. “this is one of those classes you actually might like, so try not to let it pass by too fast.”
Jonis looked up at his father, rubbing his eyes. “Alright dad, you’ve got my attention.” He let out a yawn a bit, stretching. “Wow me with your class.”
“From giant nerd to…whatever you’re supposed to be now. Amazing. Y’know, if you actually didn’t need these classes, you would have tested out of them. They don’t make you take classes you don’t need. You…do know that, right?”
“I was told I had to take classes. So I just randomly picked classes and sleep through them. Plus my parents expect me to be social and make friends. They are both teachers, so I kinda just humor them.”
“Wait…so you’re not eight? Because you look it. And you sound it. And you’re acting like it. Newsflash, kid, the ‘too cool for school’ thing stopped being interesting after, like, sixth grade.”
“Try eighteen, I’m just young looking. Oh I’m not trying to say I’m too cool for school. I’m too smart for school actually. I spent most of my childhood teaching myself everything I’m learning now. I was a giant nerd as a kid which paid off now.”
“I mean, I don’t think the elementary school’s curriculum is too hard, so I’d say go for it.”
“Aww man I wish I was still in elementary school. Where I could goof off and still pass all my classes. Oh wait I still do that today.”
