“Kali, come on, give me something.” Nathan pressed, his eyes staring into hers sympathetically. He understood she was frustrated with having to be cleared by a psychologist to be back on the force, he understood that he was the target of all of her anger and emotion, but the longer she sat tight-lipped, the less time he would have for other patients. It was a spartan way to think, but there were so many people hurting from that night, that he couldn’t help but to admit it to himself.
