If opportunity doesn’t knock...

 Just found that motivating quote that ties in nicely with another quote I like:

"There's no such thing as a lack of resources, only a lack of resourcefulness" (can't remember who)

Entering the corporate arena, I quickly realised that my initial ideas of being a marketing manager straight after graduating were unrealistic. Many of the positons that had sexy job descriptions turned out to be very senior with several years of mundane & irrelevant experience as a pre-requisite.

Kicking off the busi-ball business is one way I'm "building" a door to marketing experience opportunities that was not going to be readily opened to me at this young age. It's a meaty challenge but a very welcome one after the disappointment of being briefly lost in the corporate race.

The funniest things are often the truest

I chortled at this comic...and then I sighed when I thought about how I fit into it. (Now I understand the meaning behind the classic drama masks of Thalia and Melpomene.)

This should be just a temporary struggle until earning a living & being passionately engaged become overlapped activities.

Talking to a project owner today about finishing cosmetic (formatting) features on an Excel tool in development...

"...so this should all just be icing on the cake" - me, referring to the list of formatting corrections.

So. True.

It's important to remember the impact of the "little" details on the big picture sometimes. Product features that are not communicated and understood clearly will not be used regardless of how brilliant they could be.

The more classic quote seems relevant: a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
