as a grapheme-color synesthete, it took a long time to get used to the house colors, and I still get them confused a lot. To me, Gryffindor looks green + gold, slytherin appears blue + silver, Hufflepuff seems pastelish pink + blue + yellow, and ravenclaw looks red + black.

(techs note: this fascinates me, color blindness too. mainly because if your view of colors is skewed how do you know that gryffindor looks green and gold? who told you that you see red as green. how do they know? peoples perceptions of colors makes my mind go crazy!)
