One of the lessons that Media and literacy information thought us, is about how communication through media platforms works. Well, this topic might be a common thing for some, but for me, it is something that is really significant and timeless, especially in this time of pandemic, we may not communicate personally but with the help of media platforms, we are able to connect with one another.

Also, i have learned that being media and information literate, allows us to engage with media and other information providers effectively. We must be observant of what media offers to us, and extend our capabilities to make actions that will lead us to a great media environment.

I would say that, It is a challenging subject for me because I’m not used to make a post about something on social media. Also, I’m not good in English that’s why it’s been my concern since day 1 of our posting through our tumblr accounts. But as time goes by, I learned to be confident enough to express my own thoughts, and that’s something I must be focused on.

Filming is one of my favorite thing to do and work with. I’m so amaze on how things work behind the cameras. For me, It’s not just only shooting a video clip of a certain scenario, but also making it more mesmerizing on the eyes of the audience and capture their heart. Of course, for you to be able to do that, you have to play with it and be creative enough to produce a wonderful film. What i have learned is that, there’s so many ways to come up with a good overall filming production. There’s so many questions that you need to consider like, what would be the genre of your film? Who is your target audience? How will you convey the message that you want to imply to them? That’s just some of the questions you need answer to yourself. Also, you need to consider a good portrayal of the characters so that you are able to deliver the message and make the audience feel the emotions expressed by the characters. When it comes to editing, I may not be totally good at it, but i know that it was something that must be observed, it adds to the total package of a film which makes it more authentic than the others. It’s a good thing to know that in this kind of platform, we are able to express our emotions and deliver the message behind the actions.

Being part of Filipino Radio Broadcasting, I could say that, it’s quite difficult to make a set of precise information, but what’s a good thing about it is I learned how to construct my own news report, and how the informations will be properly organized. As a news presenter, I’m the one who is responsible to make my own report about a specific topic or issue. We have to follow the 5W’s and 1 H to make it more precise and accurate, and there’s no doubt of how effective it is in writing news report. We’re not only gathering all the specific informations we needed, but also, we must take credits for those who made that articles. We have to be observant in every detail of our news so that there will be no problem or any conflict that we might encounter, especially when it comes to delivering the information to the audience, We don’t want them to give false news.

We usually use news papers to look for articles and make our own news report. Using news papers looks old as you think of it, but It has something that i fell in love with. You really have to exert an effort to look for the information you need for your news report. Being patient enough is something that has been built in myself, and that is because of the help of reading news papers. Now that we have electronic gadgets, and developing media platforms, we’re able to search and look for different articles and news very easy, and without taking so much time reading every phrase or word. It really makes our work more easier than before.

Online shaming

It is the use of social media, blogs and other online communication channels wherein some people tends to attack and humiliate someone and publicly embarrass a target individual intentionally.

For me, social media was made for us to be able to spread positivity all over the internet. It also serves as a path way for an individual to become an inspiration and a role model to someone else, which i think it could really affect one another on how they can express themselves through social media platforms, or even in personal. What I'm trying to imply is that, you’re the one who is responsible for your own words coming out from your mouth, and actions controlled by your mind. Be sensitive enough. Publicly shaming someone through social media is not a way for you to have a better character. It's not fulfilling either. And for your information, you don’t have the right to mock, embarrass and exposed him/her on the internet without the consent of that specific person.

Well, i guess it’s time for you to regain your confidence, start looking forward and stand still. Always be true to who you are and be proud of yourself, no matter how people try to put you down.
