Tagging: JR Hayfield Location: JR's Apartment Time Frame: Friday 19th April. At approximately, 10:30pm. Warnings: Death
With music cranked up to the loudest it could possibly go, JR was dancing around, playing an air guitar. “And that’s why they call me, bad company!” Pumping his fists in the air, he banged his head up and down as he stuck his lips out. He loved just bouncing around his apartment, singing and dancing. He imagined he was up on a stage in front of millions of people. The thought pumped adrenaline through his veins. He hadn’t realised just how much he loved performing until he’d moved to New York, which was undoubtedly one of the best decisions of his life. He’d met the love of his life, met some of the best friends he’d ever had, and was the one step closer to making his dreams coming true. Yea, there were always things that brought him down, but in the end, he was the happiest he’d been in a very long time.
His thoughts trailed away when he realised the song had ended. Making his way to the stereo, he pressed pause, and stretched his arms out with a yawn. Grabbing his beer from the side table, he put it to his lips. It was his fifth tonight. So... maybe he’d had a bit too many. He rarely drank at home, like... ever. But he was in a good mood, and felt like a drink... or five.
He really was happy. With Andie back, spending time with Narise, and having more time off since the show ended, he just felt freer. He spluttered out a cough, and placed a hand to his chest. “Whoa there.” He coughed, before letting out a deep break. “That’s better.” With that, he placed the drink down, deciding he didn’t need anymore, and checked his watch for the time. 10:31. Narise would be over in half an hour, so they could head out. They’d planned on a night in the town. No bars or clubs though, thanks to his sisters over-protectiveness. They would see a Broadway show; have something to eat, and see what else there was to do. They’d just go on instinct!
His stomach grumbled. Hmm... maybe he’d get a quick bite to eat at the cafe down the road while he was waiting. He was pretty hungry. That’s what he got for not having lunch or dinner, just an apple in-between. Skipping to his bedroom, he changed into a pair of suspenders and converse. Checking himself in the mirror, he combed his hair over. With a nod and clap, he bounced on his feet, swirling around. Dancing out of his room, he yawned, and grabbed his wallet. Tossing it up and down, he whistled as he exited the apartment, locking it behind him.
Once he exited the building, he paused nearly halfway down the street, groaning. Stuffing his hand in his pocket, he grabbed his wallet, yanked it out, and flipped it open. “Bloody hell.” He grumbled. He kept forgetting he’d gotten a new one. He always seemed to be picking the wrong one every time. Stupid JR. Maybe he should just throw this one out and put the new one on the bench. That’d probably be smarter. Spinning around, he made his way back to his apartment, and threw the old wallet into the closet bin. “Shot!” He whooped at the clean score. He wheezed slightly, and after a few seconds, he started coughing lightly. Damn, he really did drink too much. Placing a hand to his chest, he coughed out again, this time it getting much profuse. He unexpectedly collapsed, and yelped in pain as his knees connected with the cold, hard concrete.
Shuffling over to the side of a building, he sat back against the wall. He was beginning to find it difficult to breathe. Reaching for his pocket, he fished for his phone, before realising he hadn’t bothered to bring it. Cursing between coughs, he started shuffling towards the entrance to his building. Why hadn’t he listened to his doc? “Too much alcohol and sugar isn’t good for you, Jonas. Dial down on it and you’ll feel better.” He needed to learn how to stop drifting off while people were talking to him. He stopped a few feet away, collapsing to the ground. He couldn’t breathe. Why couldn’t he breathe?
Three, four, five seconds. He felt like he was dying.
Because he was.
