I Knew You When by @dragoonhooman, pinch written by @theblacktiecacti
"--But if poetry is next week, how come you, the best poem I’ve ever read, has been with me for years. You have a radical singing voice, and I could write millions, billions of songs about how you laugh.”
Kian plays a short riff, tipping his head upwards as if to inhale the music. "Music, the source of emotion, of strength, of love. May it give me courage. Jesus Christ, Rebecca Jones, I love you.”
He plays a riff again, this one larger, stretching up to the sky above him. He keeps his eyes fixed on the ceiling, breathing heavily.
“Oh, Kian,” Rand sings, voice purposely high. He clasps his hands together, gasping softly. “I love you too! You’re so hot and handsome and hot. That was so romantic. We should make out and—” Rand cuts himself off as he starts obnoxiously making kissing noises, causing Rachel to burst out in laughter.
“That was really good, man,” chimes in Rolan, ever the calmer one in the party. “I particularly like the part about poetry. It was very, very charming. And, uh, poetic. I’m sure she's going to love it.”
Or...It's easy to forget, after all that's happened, that they were kids once too.
