judgement;
If one word could sum up the base of human fear, it would be judgement.
He’s never been super scared of it-- but he lack all kinds of empathy, thankfully. Never found a use for it, so he dropped it a long time before he started running with drug kings and mobsters. Better this way, to live a life of crime without the feeling anything for people who get hurt along the way.
Not that it particularly matters. Whoever gets hurt is another cog in the machine, and he doesn’t linger on extras on a movie set. If there’s one thing that he’s learned, it’s that the people you hurt aren’t saints. No one is. Everyone in this city has some dirty secret they want covered up, and for a price most can keep it to themselves.
But the ones who don’t.
Well, they usually end up on the barrel end of his favorite residents guns. And delightfully, she’s been ever busy with doing side jobs for him and something that keeps her entertained. A guy, sadly, but he’s a solid informant. Knows about him, has to. This city is about connections, and he has plenty.
Wonders faintly how she managed to get caught up in a bloodbath so large but, he tends not to question everything. Shit will happen, if you want it to or not.
