Julian was born but was put in foster care by child services. Later found out that his dad was alcoholic and his mother was a drug addict.
Spent most of his time alone in foster care but was drawn to cooking. he fell in love being able to create something and bring that feeling of enjoying the food. it was his get away.
When he was too old to stay in foster care, he started living on his own and worked at restaurants. Started off as a waiter and made his way up to chef.
When the virus took over the world, he had to learn to survive and brought food he knew that would last him.
He met a woman at one location and fell in love to the point he wanted to marry her. He later found out that she had been cheating on him throughout the entire relationship. it broke him. She later got infected and he had to be the one to put her down.
He never kept friends in the different location he stayed at because he didn't think there was a point of keeping people in his life when he kept leaving or they would die. He did pick up a stray that traveled with him and became his best friend. It was a German Shepard named Milo.
He would be called 'lone wolf' by people when he didn't socialize or let them get close.
he made his last destination at Jackson. Something in him told him to stay here and actually live in this place so he did. He became the cook of Jackson.
PERSONALITY:
He can be charming will flirt any girl that he sets his eyes on.
He can be a douchebag and sarcastic.
He sleeps around and has no regards to one's feelings mainly because he has his walls up. He's afraid of letting anyone get close to him so good luck trying to get him to open up.
PILAR WASN'T ONE TO detrimentally care about people -- considering the ones she had lost. however, there were several people she went running for the very moment the raiders breached their campground. she had looked for julian when all was said and done, but had gotten pulled away following strategy. she knew the way to his home from her own like the back of her hand by now, considering the amount of times they had sought each other out to forget everything around them. that they were living in hell on earth.
as much as she wanted to pretend she didn't care, that hookups weren't as expendable as she had always treated them -- protection was a consistent in her life. as the world fell apart, she knew forgetting about all that was happening would be even harder than before. in fact, frankly, it would be simply impossible.
as he opened the door, pilar's face softens. while she's used to seeing him strong, armed with a charming smile -- his words had certainly drawn her to him like a master silvertounge. but now, something was different. the entire world felt different.
" oh my god... " pilar murmured under her breath, eyes moving downwards towards the injury to his stomach before meeting his own gaze. " fuckin' hell.. "
It wasn't long when the town was silent and at peace only to be destroyed within minutes by raiders. They stormed every building across town. From the hospital to the bar to people's homes. They took anything the could get their hands. Fought and killed people in the process. Julian being one they fought to steal things from and try to get rid of. But that fight didn't leave him without a scratch. More like a deep wound of a knife.
He was able to tend to it but it wasn't enough. He had lost quite a lot of blood but he needed to hold on through the night. He was laying on the couch when he heard a knock on the door. He let's out a deep sigh, followed by a groan as he got up. He knew it wasn't a raider as they would've busted in.
Upon opening the door, he was expecting a soldier but Pilar stood at his doorstep. "What the fuck are you doing here Pilar?" He asked, pulling her in then looking outside to make sure no one was following. He shuts the door and locks it, turning to her. "Are you out of your damn mind? You're suppose to be in hiding, not out and about, being a target."
"Yeah, life happens but it doesn't mean it doesn't suck still." She added with a shrug. "It would suck if you ended up dead alone. Nobody deserves that. Not even you." She teased, pushing the hair out of Julian's face. She normally wasn't this kind or comforting, but this situation softened her. She genuinely wanted to make sure he ended up okay.
"Help to get you drunk so you're not in pain maybe." Toni laughed softly, getting up to raid the cabinet, taking a bottle of whiskey out. "Good taste, it really is their loss." She popped open the top as she came to sit with Julian once more. "Want some before I poor this in your wound?" She asked, offering him the bottle.
"I don't know, i think you'd be the only person who would miss me." he commented. "No one would even notice that i was gone im sure." he added. As depressing as it sounds, he believed it. He had no family and no real friends so it always made him think who would truly, genuinely miss him.
"You found out my secret to not being in pain with a headache with the people around here." he joked. He slowly sits himself up, leaning against the cabinet, clenching his teeth from the pain and grabs the bottle. "To chances of surviving or not tonight." He took a long swig from the bottle and hands it back to her.
A new side of Julian was opening up right in front of her. She would have never thought that was the weight he'd been carrying around this whole time. She got the feeling he didn't open up much, they had that in common, maybe that's why they got along. She didn't want to lose that. Lose him. She made a promise to herself in this moment that she'd get him out of this.
"I'm sorry, Julian. That's an awful thing to have to do. I had to do something similar. It never really leaves you. Even years and years down the line." She admitted, with soft sigh. "I know you've been carrying that for a while, thank you for telling me." She cupped his face as he attempted to steady his breathing. "I'm not gonna tell anyone, your secrets are safe with me."
Toni thought for a moment, looking around the kitchen. "I gotta clean this wound, you got anything for that in here? Rubbing alcohol or something? We do that and get you some gaze, you'll be good as new."
Another chuckle came out as he shook his head slightly. "It's nothing to be sorry about. Life happens." his eyes opened again to look up at Toni. One thing he was glad was that she was there with him. He felt the comfort he hadn't felt in so long. It put him at ease. "Thanks Toni. For keeping that secret and for staying with me. To be honest, i thought i was just gonna end up dead alone."
Julian smiled, a genuine smile at Toni wanting to help him. "No rubbing alcohol but i got alcohol. That shit is suppose to help apparently. Luckily the bastards didn't raid that cabinet." he pointed at the closed cabinet in the corner. "don't got gauze either."
"I'm not going to let you die, but it's kinda poetic, isn't it?" Toni let out a dry chuckle, her hand still pressing at his wound.
"Julian, you're not getting rid of me. I'm fine, if they come again, I will handle it." She knew how aggressive and desperate the raiders were, but she didn't want to worry him. He had bigger things to be concerned about other than her.
"If you try and get up again, I will stab you myself. Milo is going to be just fine." Toni reached up to the counter, grabbing a clean rag to hold against Julian's wound. "I got your back, okay? You trust me?"
Julian looked up at her after laying back down. That was a question he always hesitated to answer but it didn't seem like there was much choice here. He nodded as his eyes shift toward the ceiling. He didn't want her here. At least not to risk her own life to save his when he was already bleeding out. If help wasn't gonna get to him on time, not seeing tomorrow wouldn't be the worse thing for him. He didn't really have much to live for.
"The last time someone had to save me from dying was my ex-girlfriend. Instead of me, it was her who got infected. she put herself in harms way for me. Her last moments before being not herself, she apologized for what she had done. She told me she had been cheating on me but i couldn't hate her for it.. i loved her too much. Then when she wasn't herself, i had to put her down." he closed his eyes as he tried to steady his breathing. "Hardest thing i ever had to do. Really thought she was someone i was gonna marry." he said with a weak chuckle.
He never opened up to anyone about his past before. He didn't think he was going to make it until morning so he thought it was best to share his secret with Toni. "if you plan on telling anyone what i just said, at least wait until i'm dead. okay?"
Toni took pride in things not troubling her. Or at least having the appearance of things not troubling her. But this raid had her more terrified than she'd been in a while. She'd been through this before and she lost a lot of people she cared about. She hoped it didn't happen again. She didn't have it in her.
She ducked her way into the kitchen to hide from any incoming radiers, placing herself in one of the corners, grasping her knife in her hand as she waited. She her the commotion, simply thinking it had been raiders rummaging looking around, having no idea it was Julian fighting for his very life.
She was making her move to stand, feeling the need to keep moving forward as she heard someone coming for her. She was in the process of having the knife up for defense once she made eye contact. Julian. "Julian, my god. What.." She trailed off as she watched him hit the floor. She quickly moved over to his body, her eyes falling on his wound. She pressed one hand against the wound, trying to stop the building. "Hey, hey, stay with me." She spoke, her other hand moving to caress his face. "Julian, stay awake. You're not dying on me today. Talk to me." She tapped his face gently.
Julian felt the adrenaline leave his body soon growing tired. he felt weak but could hear Toni's voice. He fought to keep his eyes open, trying to stay awake like she had said. A weak chuckle escape him, "Never thought i'd die in the place i love being in the most." he mumble in between breathes.
His eyes flickered up at Toni, lifting a hand to graze it against her cheek. "You're not hurt are you?" he asked. "You shouldn't be here, they'll probably come back and if they do, begging them for mercy ain't happening. you need to leave and hide or else you'll end up like me." he advised her. They weren't going to need another dead body in this kitchen to clean up if she stayed.
He then remembered Milo was home alone and panic came over him. "Milo, i need to get to home to Milo." he said quickly as he tried to get up.
Julian had been cooking when he heard the scream and crashing outside his kitchen. He grabbed a knife for his weapon and was about to step out to see the incident until a raider came into the kitchen. It all soon became a blur.
The kitchen was destroyed with blood splattered on almost every surface that it reached. The raider from before had disappeared. The next thing Julian could process was the blade in his stomach. "Fuck." he muttered. He proceeded to hear a noise, thinking that there was another raider in the kitchen. He gripped the knife handle and forced it out of his body, a loud groan rumbling out of his throat. He applied pressure on his stomach with his free hand to stop the bleeding. Jay followed the noise, stumbling a bit as he panted.
As he turned the corner, ready to sink the knife into what he thought was a raider, he stopped to see it was Toni. His relax at the sight of a familiar face."It's you.." he panted again as he dropped the bloodied knife before collapsing.
"It's called being cautious," she rolls her eyes. "Something you've never heard of, clearly." She adjusts her stance as he continues, this hadn't been what she'd anticipated when coming here. She'd wanted a quiet night to simply take in the night. "Just because you whore yourself every night, doesn't mean that I do. I have hobbies, you should try it sometime." She moves toward the father window, past where he had begun looking around and peers outside.
"What's the point? We're all gonna end up dead one way or another." he said with a shrug, watching her carefully. "What makes you think I don't have hobbies other than sleeping around?" he questioned, walking over to the window with her. "You're just too quick to judge me. I would tell you but that would be just a waste of time."
She released her defense as Julian spoke, always in that condescending tone. A heavy sigh escapes her, intentionally, so he knows that she hadn't wanted to see him. "I wasn't scared. I would have had you on your ass if you didn't speak up," she tells him. "More importantly, why are you here? Don't you have STD's to spread?"
"Holding up your fist in defense and jumping at the sight of a figure. Sure you weren't scared." he mocked. "I could ask you the same thing actually." he commented, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he walked past her to look around. "meeting someone here? Someone you could blow? I don't think it's very sanitary here to do such thing."
Jo drapes an old sweatshirt over the window frame, pressing one black boot over crackling shards of glass. Her hands bracing her weight as her other foot remains dangling over the edge. She'd muffled the sound best she could upon entering the old and worn building, right at the edge of town. It had the best views of the landscapes beyond, yet the townspeople insisted it remain boarded up - which meant covered up. To preserve the beauty of the town below or whatever. A right sin, in Jo's eyes, who would rather see the building repurposed. Perhaps it was her goal to own the building someday and preserve it's history as best she could. Buildings such as this, told stories, after all. Alas. she knew herself better than that. So for now, she'd take what she could get. Whether it meant climbing one story and smashing a window or not.
"Fuck," Jo slaps her heart as she catches a glimpse of a silhouette before her. Without a second thought, her fist is in the air, making contact with the first thing within reach.
Nights where Julian couldn't sleep or didn't have a woman in bed, he would sneak around after curfew to tire himself out. He had discovered new places and things that have been left behind or forgotten. An old building was one that he took interest in. He's been wanting to explore it for the fun of it but never gave himself a chance to but tonight he was going to. As Jay stepped closer to the building, he heard a noise and followed in it's direction. He stayed cautious and alert, a flashlight ready in one hand and a gun in it's holster.
When he approached it more he saw a figure and got himself ready in case it was a raider or infected. But he heard the voice then felt a fist to the gut, he knew exactly who it was. "Fucking hell Jo really? Don't go sneaking around if you're gonna get scared." he commented, rubbing his stomach.
she listened to him as she watched the bartender pour her usual and then back to him. "let me guess. someone broke your heart?" she asked before petting his dog, sure to give milo some attention. she then asked the bartender for a bowl of water for milo and then sat the bowl in front of him. her attention was redirected back to julian as she took a sip of her drink. "so.. what do you think this is? you think i'm easy then? no work?"
"No, i've seen how it all goes throughout my life. It's just all pain and tears and whatever else. I just don't care." he shrugged. He watched as Beck got Milo some water after ordering his drink. "No i dont think you're easy. but if you want me to put in work, it sounds like you're interested in me like you want me to try and take you back to my place." he said with a smirk.
"tequila makes me hot and horny. whiskey makes me fight. rum is like my zen i guess." he added. elijah thought for a moment. this guy was funny, kind of an ass, and seemed a little too into himself. that he could pull anyone he wanted. he thought for a moment, someone should knock him off his high horse. and maybe he just wanted to be a little messy. he scanned the room and saw beck heading out and nodded to himself. "yeah man, i'm a great wingman honestly. in fact, that girl over there? hot right? maybe you should talk to her. i hear she comes off a little bitchy. you should watch her routine and then let your dog get 'lost' and then go talk to her. the whole, 'thank you for saving my dog' thing." he smirked.
"Oooh now i wanna see both the tequila you and whiskey you." he teased playfully. Elijah was an interesting one and wanted to know more about him. more than what he's showing tonight. It seemed like Elijah was gonna be worth it as a friend. One he could have for the first time in a while. His eyes shifted towards Beck, raising a brow at the idea as his usual smirk appears on his face again. "Thats a lot of work for just a one night stand but she is hot so maybe i'll give it a shot. Now that you've helped me, its my turn. Come on, who here caught your eye."
"nope, not a date." she corrected again with a small chuckle. "going to the bar for a drink is not a date thing anyway. have you ever actually taken someone a date before?" she added. "it's not about beating around the bush. it's about... the anticipation." she said stepping into the bar. "it's about building it up, like the want -- need for someone. it can kind of be like foreplay. but something tells me you're all about the sex not about the person." she explained sitting on one of the stools.
Julian thought about whether he should answer the question but then again it was just a yes or no question. He didn't have to give her any details. "I did once a while back." he responded shortly. A brow shot up at her last words before giving her a shrug, "Is that so wrong? I mean, i'm clearly not the dating type, i dont care to just be with one person. And it's too much work so its whatever to me."
