SEASON 1

Julian was born after his mother had a one night stand with some vampire that hadn’t stuck around long enough to learn her name. From the beginning his mother taught him everything that she knew, from magic to books to tips and tricks to get stains out. She wanted him well rounded and battle ready. He wanted to make her proud and uncork his anger at the world. Julian shoved all of his rage at vampires and other witches, who had abandoned his mother after the affair, and let it out little by little with sharp jabs at most who tried to talk with him.

Season 2

Not much changed for Julian through out the new reign of the Unseelie. His mother complained, he kept his ears open at the bar, and just kept dishing out booze. Throught he adjustment phase he mostly kept to himself, a little more than typical. Becoming a recluse almost he spent most of his time outside of work with his mother or with Avery. Taking the time to try and be a better psychic and hone his powers more. With the influx of consistent people in Faerune he wasn’t left with a choice. He was sick of the anxiety and fear weighing on him all the time. Julian read everything his mother’s coven could come up with and practice with them until he could all but shut everything out on a normal level. He still wasn’t able to shut out high level outbursts or intense emotions but at the very least he wasn’t drowning in everyone else’s shit.

The weather was finally nice enough that Julian managed to talk Avery into spending the day in the park. He had laid out a blanket and was stretched across, his eyes closed, enjoying the sun. There weren't a ton of people around for him to listen in on, just the birds. It was nice to just zone out on their chirps while he waited.

percy had realized how stuffy his mask actually was after about an hour, the bandage and glue covered plastic starting to get a bit sweaty– opting to instead tie it to be on the side of his head instead, leaving october’s side to go get some more champagne– standing to the side and sipping on it, feeling a bit buzzed. he supposed he should drink some water and turned to do so when he felt an elbow nudge him– turning his head in surprise.

his face lights up at the sight of julian, quickly grabbing a flute of water before giving his friend his full attention– following his gaze to the person in question, humming softly in consideration. “maybe an alkonost?” he guesses, looking over the stranger’s costume for a moment– leaning tipping his head from side to side. “judging from the rainbow feathers and gold accents.”

Julian had been taking a sip from his glass when Percy made his guess. The psychic choked on his drink, sputtering from laughter. “Percy. My friend. What the fuck is an alkonost?” Julian could not contain his laughter. It was never a dull moment with Percy around and Julian loved it.

The brownie had hung back around the fringe of the party, crowds always overwhelming for her.  Realistically, Cen likely would not have come if not for the way Tilly looked so excited to join in the festivities.  She jumped as the elbow made contact against her, expression turning sheepish as she looked over to the other.  “I-I’m sorry, I missed what you said.  Can you say it again?”

Julian’s smile widened sheepishly, “No worries it was kind of an impulse thought said outloud,” He scratched at his hair with a chuckle, “I asked what do you think they’re dresses as? I’ve been staring at the mass of feathers for like twenty minutes. I think they might be hypnotyzing.”

“I don’t know. An art nouveau version of Big Bird?” Avery asked with a small smirk. She glanced sidelong at Julian. “You look great, by the way. What made you go with sexy Red Riding Hood?”

Julian snorted at her comment, still staring at the other person. Pretending to flip his hair, he faced her grinning and obviously amused with himself, “Oh thanks I let a magic 8 ball pick top ten costumes then left it for fate to decide. And fate sure made me pretty.”  he smirked and reached for her cane, “Is this to keep me in line? Or your many suitors at bay?”

Julian had dropped a bunch of random costume ideas into a hat and was honestly stoked about how the Red Ridinghood costume turned out. He definitely missed the comfort of his dragon onsie from last year but the trade off was worth it. Honestly the only reason he had showed up was because of how entertained he was at the sight of his own red cape and corsette. Sure the pastic of his mask cut into his nose but enough alcohol would take that thought far from his mind.

Julian was a few too many deep, as per usual, looking around trying to pick out people’s costumes. He elbow bumped the person next to him, “what do you think they’re suppose to be?” Julian used his chin to casually point out someone consumed in feathers.

“Shut up,” Avery said, shoving him gently as he continued to tease her. It wasn’t like she hadn’t thought about it, but Julian was her best friend and she needed him to stay that way because any time she got feelings for someone, she somehow managed to fuck it up. She didn’t want to fuck things up with Julian. “We meet on Thursdays at six in the art room at the university,” she told him. “I’ll save you a seat if you really want to come.”

He laughed with her shove, it was easy being with Avery. That didn’t mean teasing was going to stop there though. Joking allowed him to avoid thinking about anything that actually mattered to him and that wasn’t stopping any time soon. “Fine. But there will be no stopping my fan club from forming. I have such a magnetic personality.” He smirked before adding, “And I can’t help I look incredible naked.” Tacking on a wink before he lost the fight against laughing at his own comment and snorted. He bobbed his head at her, “Yeah do that! I’m pretty sure I don’t work Thursday. Use my free time to get cultured.”

“I’m not the best with those.” With some people, ones that he had a close relationship with, it was different, sometimes easier, other times still just as difficult as with those he wasn’t that close with. “First round’s on you.”

“Praise the gods, I hate interpersonal chatty people.” The mood he was in felt good to get back to, it had been much too long since he had actually felt like he was fitting back into his own skin again. At least enough to get out. “Then to drink we go.” He started off from the bar glancing back at Ezra to make sure he was following, “What are we thinking, my boy? PB&J’s? AMFs? We could start hard and just hit the tequila raw?”

“That actually makes sense” Todd said after a moment, “People probably talk about a lot of stuff when they think the strippers are only there to do a job and pretend to like them,” That was one thing Todd had learned from movies and tv. No matter how nice and talkative they were being the stripper was NOT into you.

“It’s really quite impressive,” chuckling as he continued, “which is why I still say strippers. But not my party. So tell me my tall friend, what are we going to do? My realistic vote is going for anything where we get drunk. I’ll even mix drinks if you want.”

“Ah, big brother was always watching us, Julian, the difference is that this big brother doesn’t know how to work a fucking cell phone and probably used magic mirrors for their long distance calls for the past several centuries. Different kind of surveillance- the council wasn’t squeaky clean, but at the very least they kept the peace between species and were incompetent enough I could give them a pass to worry about werewolf Jersey Shore instead of Keeping Up with the Fuckin’ Lulens.” He’d prefer a change of the channel, really. Constantly looking over his shoulder was getting insufferable, and it had only gotten worse with the creation of the Rex Vespidae. “Even if I was still in the game of whoring around, I’d like to pretend I know better than to fuck a nepotism baby. Maybe.” He shrugs, grinning and taking the drink settled in front of him, taking a long swallow and drumming ringed fingers against the glass.

“Well, far be it from me to turn down a free drink, I don’t see a lot of them in Faerune, I blame the fact the band and I are mortal realm famous.” He laments playfully. “Though I’d say it’s best to specify what you’re charging for the tickets- had a guy try to trade me a weird feywild critter he caught for a new bridle for his horse a couple months back, I’ve already got puppies I’m trying to get rid of, I don’t think coming into the possession of a… glow in the dark squirrel or a snake with hair is the move for me- probably best to trade tickets to the brawl for material goods and not something that might give you Magic-Rabies.”

A very, very vivid image popped into Julian’s head, he tried to contain his laugh, “Do you think she sits up there all day asking the mirror who the fairest of them all is? What happens if one of her kids wins out? Will there be a glass coffin in the town square?”  He had failed to keep his laughter in. “Oh shut the fuck up, you don’t give a shit in your whoring phase pretend all you want. I, however, am very good at choosing the absolute worst person for myself so I mean. Might as well be royalty if the chance arose.” 

“You know, that doesn’t sound like the worst deal. Could train it to give magical rabies to other people. I would be hella down for a glowing sugar glider though. That would be dope as fuck.”

“A soap opera, really?” Todd was more interested in how drinking with strippers was like a soap opera, a genre that Todd was all too familiar with thanks to his grandmother when he was a kid.

“Dude it’s like they see everything.” Julian laughed, “You know how people use their bartenders as therapists and I thought I knew too much about people? I was dead wrong. You can’t imagine the weird shit those women see.” With a shrug he tacked on, “I haven’t been out much though so I haven’t gotten anything good lately.”

The concept of a social life was almost laughable to Peter. He didn’t have a social life. Never had. Not a real one at least. He’d faked it plenty of times. Some people would say there wasn’t that much difference between a real one and faking it, but a real one probably wasn’t supposed to end with the other party dead. “You have a place in mind?”

“Depends.” Julian thought for a bit, “do we want strippers and booze or should we do that cool guy lean on the bar and not dance at the club?” It was a joke, but he kinda meant it. The high end bars were always too busy for him, but that was before he had actually tried to get a handle on his powers. “Maybe we’ll get lucky and get taken home by one of the royal siblings, map the place out, and then pull a whole Italian Job and rob the place.”

Ezra had already started cleaning up the glasses that had been left by the last of the patrons to leave, and wiping down the bar counter. He was thankful that he’d remembered to turn their hearing aid back on after having turned it off part way though service, when things had just gotten a bit too loud. “Maybe just the first one” Getting drunk Ezra was all for, the whole spilling their darkest secrets thing…not so much.

Juilan pretended to dramatically cry for a moment before his grin grew wider as he went on to tease. “Oh what you don’t want to know about all my heart’s desires? I’m horribly offended. Now we definitely have to drink to heal my inside wounds.” It had been too long since Julian actually tried to socialize outside of his normal three people. “First round on me?”

“I’m not painting you in the nude if that’s what you’re implying,” Avery said with a grin, blushing some despite herself. “There’s no sign-up sheet, you just have to show up. You can bring your own wine and snacks or have some that’s already there. I usually bring cookies.”

“Like you’ve never thought about it.” Julian kept teasing her, “you’re telling me I could get drunk AND be the center of attention? What are the hours again?” He was kidding for the most part but he was actually curious about what the art group was like. See the part of Avery’s world he didn’t quite understand.

“Not a burden. Maybe a nuisance, but never a burden,” Avery said with a smile, moving her hand down to take his, lacing their fingers together. “We could do that or we could go to the studio. I got some new finger paints and I need someone to try them out with me before I use them in class.”

“I’ll take it!” He laughed and used their linked hands to pull her a little off balance. “Oh. I do love some finger painting. That does sound much more fun than Edward Fortyhands right now anyway. I’m a slut for doing art shit with you, you know that. Is there a sign up sheet with like a schedule so you can paint me like one of your French girls?”

“Thank God. I’ll take it, little victory.” The vampire laughs, easily catching his drink and knocking back quite a bit of it with one smooth swallow. “See, that’s the problem! Nobody gets into good old fashioned stupid bullshit anymore. It’s all court intrigue and political bullshit and dammit, I miss the time before all this when you could at least enjoy Brad and Tammy having a screamin’ drunk argument in public because he looked too long at her sister. Now it’s all about oooo, weird fae sex parties and the queen’s crotch goblins did this, or that.” he rolls his eyes. “And as far as I’m concerned, that’s the only complaint I’m allowed to have.” Lest he be disappeared. “And hey, if somebody comes over the bar over a fucked up gin and tonic or something tonight I’ll cover you. Been too long since I’ve overnighted in the precinct cells and not the morgue. Gotta get in touch with my roots again.”

“Good gods,” Julian threw his head back and stared at the ceiling for a moment, “I miss it so much. Like I don’t know how to explain how much I want a normal bar fight. Little werewolf domestic violence instead of feeling like Big Brother is watching me all the fuckin’ time.” Shaking his head before he continued, “I mean don’t get me wrong. All of them are hot. And most of them could definitely get it. However, I’m lowly white trash and they ain’t wandering into this bar so I would like to be so far removed frmo their bullshit I don’t even know their names.” With a devious smile he pour another drink for October and set it in front of him, “And that’s exactly why that’s on me. I would sell tickets and take bets. We could profit off a Chad and I think that’s beautiful.”
