ââŠI was just wondering if that was your car right there,â Nathan gestured to his left, his previously expression of admiration now replaced by poorly hidden distaste at the manâs personality. âTo each their own, I guess,â he mumbled under his breath.Â
Julienâs attention turned at the mention of his other (some would say second) true love. Julien owned a total of five cars and was on his way of purchasing a six. Tonight, he traveled with the Maserati. âYou should see the interior. Itâs custom designed.âÂ

âMaybe if I was young and desperate and wanted a quickie out by the cabanas,â She threw out easily, a smirk finding its way onto her features and nudging the blonde boy at her side. âOther than that, you can continue on wishing Iâd distracted by you and your looks.â
âDonât be so dramatic, Silver. If you want a quickie, we donât have to go all the way out to the cabanas. We could do it right here in public and no one would bat an eye.â
plsjane:
âJust ramblings about Narcissus. Nothing to worry about.â
âIâd take that as a compliment, but I admit. I prefer Adonis.â
scotty-duncan:
ââDo you ever just listen to your own words?â
âIt doesnât matter what I say, so long as I sound beautiful saying it,â he said, already absorbed in his reflection again. The only thing that drew him out was when he lifted his empty drink to his lips. âOh bartender,â he called, pulling Scotty back. Despite having met the man summer after summer, he still refused to refer to him by his name. âAnother one. And donât cheap on the ice this time.âÂ
ggildedbysilver:
âPlease tell me youâre joking,â She looked over her shoulder, raising freshly trimmed brows in the process.Â
âWhy would I joke about my own reflection,â Julien said, finally putting the mirror down. âCome now, mon ange, Iâm beautiful. You get distracted too.â
âWhatâs that? Did you say something? I got distracted by my own reflection,â he said, proceeding to stare. âGod, Iâm outstanding.â
âIâm pretty sure that old bastard Lowenthal next door was watching me change through a pair of bird watching binoculars. Do people really get off that way? Just watching someone change into a bikini. Itâs not like I was fondling my tits the entire time?â
âIs he still watching,â Julien asked, setting his phone aside and gesturing her over.Â
The flushed cheeks were one of the telltale signs of her rush, and so were the quick breaths she took as she finally stopped, eyes scanning every nearby surface, crouching down more than twice to check under the tables and the chairs, praying to God that the thing she was looking for wasnât lost forever. Mateo, her younger brother, pointed out that she could always get another copy, and while that was true, her Cien Sonetos de Amor was a gift from her late maternal grandmother, and, ever the sentimentalist, Sophia Gutierrez couldnât imagine replacing it with just about any other copy. No, it had to be found. It wasnât lost, she told herself, and she refused to believe otherwise. Standing upright, she pushed her ink-black hair behind her shoulders, turning slightly so she was now facing the person who was currently the closest to the scene of the crime. âIâd hate to be a bother, but,â Sophia started, wondering for a fleeting moment if she looked as panicked as she felt. ââ have you seen a book here? Orange and blue, has a picture of little boat on the cover?âÂ
Julien was bored. While that statement was often acquainted as a dangerous thought, today it only lead him down stairs where the commoners mingled. Sadly, there was very little Julien wanted with any of them either. He plopped himself down onto the plush couch, long legs spread across the seat to prevent any other occupants from joining. His eyes scanned the contents of the table nearby -- most of which were trashy magazines that were dated now when every decent story could be found on TMZ or Fox News. A foreign title caught his eye, and while he was not fluent in the language, he lifted it regardless, opening to the first sonnet. He found he liked the way the words flowed, despite not knowing the meaning. Barely through the second page however, a voice broke through, frantic to say the least, speaking to someone else, who would in a moment, point to Julien. He turned the book over in his hand, finding the small boat painted on the cover. Ordinarily, he would have tossed it aside after page three; a book could only entertain him for so long, but seeing her approach, he held it close to him instead. âItâs finders keepers, isnât it?â

whatâs your astrological sign?Â
âVirgo.â
whatâs the best piece of advice you ever received?Â
âBe beautiful. Beauty the only thing thatâs worth anything in this world. Not that I needed the advice; I was born attractive.â
whenâs the last time you followed your instincts?Â
âMy instincts told me to kiss her. I did. My instincts told me to kick her out of my bed. I did that too.â
whatâs your favorite food?
âCrepes suzette.â
whatâs your secret dream?
âI donât dream, darling. I live.âÂ

if you could have any view from your bedroom window what would you choose?Â
âI have several favorites. Generally speaking, all aesthetically pleasing. My place in Paris looks out onto the city. While I would prefer the Eiffel Tower in view, there are some things that are necessary to relinquish to avoid commoners and tourists. Furthermore, there are no wrong views of Manhattan, so long as the view is transcending. Lastly, there is the view from our house on the Hills. Spectacular really, almost as good as my reflection.âÂ
whatâs your favorite thing to do on a sunny day?Â
âI prefer to bathe in the sunlight, naked and stretched across the beach.âÂ
what do you consider lucky?Â
âMy reflection.â
what made you smile today?Â
âMy reflection.â
what makes you happy?
âMy reflection.â
