hiii, I really really really love The Horse Thief ( I think I spent some time crying) , it’s genuinely amayzing.
I wrote smt based off it
The morning after you died, the sun seemed brighter than usual. To shine so brightly on such a morning was quite brutal.
Down by the river bay, near the house we stayed, where we danced and pranced, the pond over there glimmers like glass, and time will continue to pass.
I try not to think of your death,or the bullet I put through your head.I try not to think of the field we lay,or the flowerbed at your grave.
The day after your death, after your last breath,The world seemed to shimmer and glitter in ways I couldn’t forget.
I wished it didn’t.
I’m not a great writer, but I just wanna say thank you so much for getting me out of my writing block and bringing myself to write something.
I can't even imagine how to write a good poem! It's definitely one of the hardest crafts out there (at least to me personally)
My god, that's amazing!
I’m really glad I could help with your writing block. I just went through my own, and it was a tough fight.

Hey, guess what I resurrected! Chp15!! Yay!!
Are there any fics or other pieces of literature that inspire you when writing ua?
Hey! Sorry I was offline for a long while, so I didn't see the ask!
I don't think I can identify a specific inspiration. It was probably a mix of various vampire-related things and very violent movies. I truly don't know where my bizarre and confusing storytelling style originated from and if anyone mentions Steven Moffat I'm going to cry. I watched way too much Doctor Who during my young impressionable years.
I did spend hundreds of hours reading Umineko When They Cry last year, and it has haunted me ever since.
it's about ua!
I don’t know if you ever plan on finishing it, but I wanted to let you know I am absolutely obsessed with the Lunar Rendezvous fic of yours. Like seriously obsessed
I’m a bit of a nerd for American 60’s history (specific I know) and while reading your fic I was genuinely kicking my feet in excitement at all the little details. It makes you feel so much more immersed with how everything is portrayed, from the fashion to the details about the American flag, to the technology and how the characters all spoke. All of it was just so perfect. And though admittedly before i read this I wasn’t terribly knowledgeable about the space race, after I did I started researching nasa like crazy. It’s slowly become one of my favorite topics.
And Scar. oh my GOD scar. How did you manage to write him so well??? He’s so in character despite his lack of care for human life, not to mention he feels like a person! Everyone does. Also I appreciate how you kept him disabled, I understand why people tend to remove that when writing fics so no digs to anyone else, but it really makes a difference when reading which I appreciate. Also I imagine writing it in a historical setting could be difficult but you did it so nicely!
Also the image of Grian in a naval uniform is one I quite enjoy
Sorry for the rant, but anyways I wanted to say that whether you finish the fic or not it is an absolute gem of a writing piece. And i wanted to thank you for making it and sharing it with the world
I'm so glad you like it! I really enjoy its concept, and the space race is definitely an interest of mine. I'm also really into midcentury fashion and aesthetics, so I had a lot of fun writing this fanfic. Unfortunately, at the time, I didn't consider myself capable of actually writing a complex time-travel sci-fi, and I backed out, which I'm still extremely ashamed of. Not only did the plot planning genuinely strain my head, but I also had to spend a lot of time doing research (especially on the challenges faced by people with limited mobility during that period; it was quite depressing). It's one of those moments when I genuinely start to get upset that I can't be a professional novelist and write stories as a full-time job. But I also really enjoy writing fanfic…
Hello!!! Are you comfortable with podfics (fanfiction audiobooks) being made of your works? :3
Absolutely <3

this time it's art for my favourite ever fic Urban Appetite by @juliusxxxxxx
(check out others' cool submissions too!)
I'm going to consume this art style *munching noise*
would you be alright with physical prints of your fics? I'm a heavy re-reader if I've enjoyed something a ton. of course not to distribute, just for a personal thing to keep
If you don’t bind them into an actual book, then it’s fine!
My general opinion about printing my fics is that people can print them if that's a more comfortable way for them to read, but I don't want anyone to turn them into a real book (if that makes sense)
Not really asking anything, just really wanted to show appreciation for urban appetite and how amazing the writing and characterisations are
I don’t know if this is too much of a personal yap but Scott’s character means a lot to me as someone who struggles a lot with schizoid traits — even if that wasn’t the intention with him, it’s still something that felt really real in a sense. Especially in the way he is perceived by others, i feel the ‘weird vibe’ ‘icky feeling’ or ‘something off’ allegations to another level lol. And out of curiosity i wonder how his relationship with his family and parents is?
Also, just wanted to share some of my favourite moments or lines!
“Why do you care?” Scott asked. “We’ll never be part of their civilization. They can look, but they can't see us. Do you ever pay attention to the stray cats fighting on the street?”
“Am I not speaking a language you can understand?” In response, Scott took a step forward, grabbing Joel by the shoulders and shaking him gently. “Or do you just not want to understand me? Are you really that much of an idiot?”
“Pretentious? Annoying? A weirdo? No, they call you a monster.”
“You know, that blue hair fella. Always gives you an icky feeling.”
and not a scott related quote, but a martyn quote i really enjoy
“I don’t know!” Martyn laughed heartily. “That’s how I feel about many things in life, I reckon.”
Thank you for liking it!
Although he wasn't designed with schizoid traits in mind, I definitely see the connection. I think there are two reasons why Scott is the way he is in UA. One is that he's an outsider even among a group of outsiders. The other is that, in my mind, someone who doesn't have many weaknesses must appear to be immune to sorrow and slander. However, similar to many people around the world who can't express their emotions in a socially “normal” way, it doesn't mean he doesn't experience them.
Regarding his family: I LOVE creating complicated and messy family lore when I write, and his family is pretty chaotic too. There's a deleted scene in chapter 14 where Grian threatened him with his family. Scott, however, didn’t really care about them and was amused by the idea, which made Grian kinda pissed off. I thought the scene might be too light-hearted for the situation lol.
The last quote is indeed related to Scott in some ways! Martyn said it to Joel, whom he saw as resembling Scott. That's why he was sharing some of his knowledge with Joel.
i just finished the horse thief oh my god.... just. wow. wow. anyways, i did post something on my page about it (it has an art thingy) but WOW
i just, i love it. its so good, its so gut wrenching. if anyone sees this ask GO READ IT!!!! the writing is phenomenal!
Thank you for reading! <3 I love the art! That's actually how I pictured what happened…
I'm sorry if my storytelling is confusing (I get that a lot recently). That's definitely not my intention. I try to write stories that are open to interpretation, but I guess it always backfires. But I'm really glad you liked the ace representation! I'm the kind of ace who loves romance, and I wish this fic could be a good fit for the niche.
