Music has always been such an important part of my life, going to shows is one of my favourite things to do. There is definitely something special when you get to see a song you love played in front of you. I recently had the pleasure of seeing Mother Mother play to about 300 people at a hall in Red Deer. Absolutely blew my mind, so here is a really lovely acoustic version of Simply Simple.

All week at Violet's school they have been doing workshops with hoop dancer Teddy Anderson. His family background is European and Persian. He was specially invited to learn hoop dancing by an Ojibway elder in the Yukon where he grew up. During his time at the school he taught the kids about the medicine wheel, and how we as a people are all united no matter who we are and where we come from. He also taught each grade their own special hoop dance. It was an incredibly inspirational thing to see and I am so happy her school had him come and work with the children. This video is him performing a 30 hoop dance. As you can hear the kids went absolutely nuts watching it, as did the parents.

This kid blows my mind every day, her gift for all thing dance is truly incredible. Tomorrow she has a hoop performance at school and I am so excited to see the sick moves she’s got planned for that. Can’t wait to see the name Violet Bright in lights!!!
