Polar Thoughts

When I first was the trailer I was kinda looking forward to seeing Polar, and it is not even a movie I would enjoy. The trailer was the best part. Mads does nothing without 110%, but this was painful beyond belief. Take out his bare ass, and the rest of the tits and ass, and no one would even consider this movie. 

I cringe for Mads every time I read a review on Polar. I honestly couldn’t finish it, and I have no desire to try. I am confused with the fact that Blut hires his younger team to take out retiring assassins, but the sniper of the group shoots the guy in the shoulder, why not the head? Why stage more emphasis on the over done daddy/daughter sex scenes, and totally leave out the actual killing of Blut? Even when Duncan kills the young assassins, it is in almost an afterthought, this is suppose to be a gore film. The films seems more of a transition from movie to porn, lots of blood, butts, tits, boners but totally lacked the violence that the film promised. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care about the representation of women for the male audience, even Katheryn Winnick makes sex objects of the women in the club. But honestly, what middle aged man doesn’t want to shot a semi porn scene with an extremely young woman? Even Vanessa had a very small role, that should have been more focused. The only plot that this reminds me of is Lucas and Klara from The Hunt 10 to 15 years later, and her family is trying to kill him. 

I enjoy watching Mads’ films, I just feel like his talent was totally wasted. I honestly hope they do not make a sequel. Mads deserves better!!

My Polar review

Mads puts his all into the role, and it shows. However, the film fell flat and hard. The cabin scene made his character look desperate and like a borderline perverted predictor. For a top assassin he falls for the dumbest sh*t. It is almost like a Porky’s film with lots of blood. I feel worse for the dog, he deserved better as well. If Mads weren’t in the movie I bet it wouldn’t have been made, he commands the screen, but the story, production, and stupidity made it hard, I didn’t finish it.
