Frankenstein’s Monster revives in manga form!

Junji Ito announces a monochrome variation of Unbox Industries’ “Frankenstein’s Monster”! Pre-orders for the $150 figure close on October 31st.

The full color original, included with the monster’s cloak, is also still available without time restraint!

MMTS 7th anniversary bandana featuring voice actress and musician Shoko Nakagawa (best known for her role as presenter of Pokémon Sunday), illustrated by Junji Ito.

For buyers at a first-come-first-serve basis, the bandana, which is also autographed by Nakagawa, will be included with purchase of an applicable product available through Beams. The special offer concludes when all stock is sold.

The design references an earlier collaboration between MMTS and Junji Ito, which spawned “Yon & Mu” yukatas and dresses, still up for grabs online.

One story I’ve posted about before appears in Ito’s new “Venus in the Blind Spot”. Called “How Love Came to Professor Kirida”, it was originally titled “How Love Came to Professor Guildea” and was written by Robert Hichens, adapted to manga by Ito.

To celebrate VIZ Media’s GotManga Summer Reading Club’s “Uzumaki” reading guide, the publisher has released some exclusive mobile and desktop “Uzumaki” wallpapers!

Ito’s story is also available for digital download, at the price of $15.99, although depending on the provider, prices may vary.

“JHorror Project” opens their Twitter page and website! Their goal is to bring horror works to the world.

With their first tweet, they reveal that their first project will entail voice actors hosting online reading sessions of Ito’s stories, beginning August 27th through the 30th. One story per day, for four consecutive nights, including “Glyceride”, “the Hanging Balloons”, “the Groaning Drain”, and “the Ice-cream Truck”.

In addition, there’ll be a crowdfund to support a collaboration between Junji Ito and actor/director Junji Inagawa (”Shinrei”, “Rinbu”, and “Tanba Tetsuro no Daireikai Shindara Odoroita!!”), where Ito’s “Amabie” illustrations will also be distributed in return, complete with a seal hand-carved by Ito himself!
