#IStandWithTaylorSwift

This entire thing transcends any petty bullshit old drama that’s ever happened, that it doesn’t matter whether or not you like Taylor Swift. And I’m glad to see that a lot of people have recognised this as well. This isn’t a 280 character twitter fight. This is a 15 year old fight for a woman who wants to own her own creations.

It wasn’t enough that people have purposefully misconstrued her words, have been playing he said, she said, or just being plain ignorant (because as a Swiftie since I was in third grade, I’ve seen the toxic masculinity, the slut shaming, the hate for no reason other than hate and I’ve seen Taylor Swift go through it all and not just survive but thrive.)

This was a rude awakening about the toxicity of being an artist. Because as a girl who’s always dreamt of being a writer, seeing this happen to a woman who has not only reached for the stars (and as Halsey put it) but landed in the Milky Way, to see people still take advantage of her or undermine her is still so heartbreaking. Because when you get down to it, you realise that this has and will happen to all artists, no matter how powerful you are . Especially women (because let’s face it, Taylor Swift became so powerful that Scott Borchetta knew he couldn’t control her, felt his masculinity so threatened that his “I don’t want to be subservient to anyone” really meant that he didn’t want Taylor Swift to not just have equal footing with him, but to be able to have independence over her career.)

As a writer, I’ve always believed that even though you will have critics and haters, you will always be able to say that those words are mine and this work is mine- to know that what you make is what you own. But to see Taylor Swift be denied ownership of her own work is a slap in the face for every artist, writer, and essentially creator out there.

This isn’t a “that’s just how the biz works”. Because that is NOT how the “biz” should work. And for people to say that this is normal and that this is what should be expected is just a disgusting excuse to allow a toxic cycle to continue on its path of destruction.

Let Taylor Swift own her her own music. Let artists own their own music.

Opinion: on Jin being the most likely to “mess up choreo”

I think people are mixing up being naturally good at dancing with messing up choreo. All the boys are good dancers, but some come from practice and some just from being naturally good at it.

I think when they say that Jin is the worst dancer (from RunBTS or like Vlives) it’s because it isn’t something that comes naturally for him. Some people can pick up dancing moves just by looking at it and some people take ten minutes with a detailed guide. I think that’s why BTS always talks about how Jin practices a lot- because unlike JHope (obv natural dancer) it takes him a little longer. And that’s fine because the end product is what matters. also since he practices like twice as much he would NEVER BE CAUGHT SLIPPING.

Being known as the visual member of the group, like that’s what he was hired for, it’s easy to just stay with that. But what’s really cool about Jin is that he strives to do more than that and contribute more! uwu so it’s definitely disheartening for people to be clinging on to the “visual member” reputation and not acknowledging how far he’s come and how hard he works. Like obv I don’t know them personally, but I defo know how much it sucks when you work that hard and people ignore it.
