Aerial shots of world’s highest outdoor elevator
If you’ve thought taking a glass elevator on a multistoried building is a breathtaking experience, try the Bailong Elevator in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, in China.
The Guinness World Records has recently recognized this 326-meter elevator — it is as tall as New York’s Chrysler Building — as the highest outdoor sightseeing elevator in the world. The 180-million yuan (27.6 million US dollars) elevator project was started in 2002 and stands close to a cliff in Zhangjiajie.
So if you want to try something comfortably daring combined with some sightseeing, you know where to head next.

This is just one example where geology catches our attention and begs the question: What causes the Rainbow Mountains to be colored the way they are? Here’s the processes that make up the reds, greens, yellows, and blues.
