Customer Interview #18: John F.
1. Walk me through a typical day for you.
I wake up around 8 AM to go for a short run or do some exercise if it’s too cold out. Then I go to class, and once class is done I go to the library and do some studying. I go to bed earlier than most of my friends, usually I’m in bed my midnight or one when I have school then next day.
2. How do you spend most of your time?
Most of my time is spent studying with my friends. I end up doing more hanging with my friends than studying, but my work always gets done.
3. Do you prioritize eating in your schedule? If so, which meals?
Breakfast is really important and I always eat after I exercise or else I can’t function for the rest of the day. Actually, every meal is important for me. If I miss lunch I’ll be ruined for the rest of the day, and if I skip dinner I’ll fall asleep early and won’t be able to run in the morning.
4. What are your favorite places to purchase a meal?
I love wisey’s salads, they’re definitely my favorite food right now.
5. What would you change about these places?
I wish wisey’s was cheaper. I mean $8.50 for a salad is kind of ridiculous when I think about it. If they’re going to charge that much they should definitely throw in more chicken or a free drink or something.
6. How much money do you spend on food from restaurants?
I don’t really eat at, like, sit-down fancy restaurants unless my parents come to visit me and take me out. I do buy food from places though, like Wisey’s and Epi. I also really like to buy desserts in DC – they’re my weakness – like Baked & Wired and Pie Sisters.
7. Do you eat often at restaurants? Break down how often you eat at different places – home vs dining hall vs out/restaurants
I hate the dining halls, but restaurants are too expensive, so when I eat out I end up eating at places like Luke’s Lobster or Chipotle where I can get a quick meal with my friends and then I head back to campus. It’s usually a pretty short outing. I eat at the dining hall just because I have a meal plan.
8. How often are you in environments where you don’t have much time to eat?
Like I said before I occasionally don’t have enough time to eat a full dinner but every meal is important. Even here at school when I have the least amount of time in my schedule (compared to summer and winter break) I prioritize eating.
9. What do you eat in these environments?
Wisey’s salads are my savior *laughs* I think they’re great because they come in a re-sealable plastic dish that I can bring with me. I can order it on the phone, run down to wisey’s after an afternoon class, bring it back to the MSB with me, and eat the salad while I study before my next class.
10. -explain Juxtapizones- What are your thoughts and criticisms?
I really like the idea and I would definitely buy them if you have healthy options like you say. I think they would be easy to transport too and I like that I could eat it while I’m walking instead of having to bring it somewhere to sit down and eat like a salad.
11. Can you recommend anyone I should talk to about this idea?
I think people here at Georgetown would appreciate it. I could see it getting put in the Hoya Court or somewhere on campus in the future; maybe you could ask the restaurants there if you can talk to their managers.
