Life is boring, except for flowers, sunshine, your perfect legs. A glass of cold water when you are really thirsty. The way bodies fit together. Fresh and young and sweet. Coffee in the morning. These are just moments. I struggle with the in-betweens. I just want to never stop loving like there is nothing else to do, because what else is there to do?

i think the funniest and realist thing i’ve realized lately is how troubling idealization can be. every person is just… a person. the very people you want to impress or be apart of are just people. even if they seem wildly intimidating because of the way they look or because of their reputation, every one is just a person. human. as embarrassing, as remorseful and they are going through stages of growth just like you are. we only see what we want to see and then drown ourselves further in our own depression and we don’t have to.

this was actually what my psychologist emphasised on teaching me more than anything else when i was going through cbt (cognitive behavioural therapy) as a preteen for really bad social anxiety and depression, and fully understanding this is ultimately what helped me recover (i say recover in the sense of being able to go outside, talk to people, have positive interactions, smile more and mean it, just being functional.) i can’t stress how important it is to digest this information and actively remind yourself of it, especially if your mental health is suffering due to social-related stress, because it makes a huge difference both in how you interact with others and how you internalize these interactions and move forward with your life.
