Vessel with the Face and Breasts of Hathor New Kingdom, Dynasty 18 1570─1293 BC

Beer and wine were drunk at the festivals celebrating Hethor, the mistress of drunkenness. Here her head adorns a vessel whose pierced breast-like spouts allowed the liquid to pour through━ giving the goddess’s blessing for the merriment that would follow.
