Kacxa Week 2020 - Thank You Contributors and Readers
Kacxa Week 2020 is officially in the books. I want to take this opportunity, as moderator of this blog, to extend my personal thanks to the content creators for their amazing work, and to the content consumers who lifted everyone’s spirits by viewing and commenting on these amazing works.
I wasn’t sure what I was getting into at the beginning of August 2020 when I agreed to moderate the event on Tumblr. It turned out to be a wonderful experience that I would not trade for anything in the world. I made some new virtual friends and strengthened relationships with those I already knew. That to me is priceless.
There may be some additional content coming in over the course of the next few days and should that happen I will post it to the Kacxa Week 2020 blog. Work is starting on the creation of a living Kacxa Fic list and I have already received an offer from an outstanding Kacxa author to help assemble it. Once we have that list updated, we will publish it.
The Kacxa community may be small, but we are a powerful. This ship is by no means dead. I firmly believe that. Keep the faith!
As promised, this is a Kacxa Fic Reading List compiled from AO3 by @maygirlsposts and @poorrichardslegacy. A huge shout-out to @maygirlsposts for pulling the bulk of the fic listing together.
To create the list, we pulled all fics that were tagged Acxa/Keith (Voltron) and Acxa & Keith (Voltron). Once we had that, the “fun” began.
Kacxa fans are painfully aware that the Kacxa tag has been used in ways it should not be, not only on Tumblr but on AO3 as well (I won’t get into specifics, you all know what I’m talking about), so after the list was created it was screened using two criteria.
The first criteria is that Kacxa needed to be the endgame ship of the story. A couple of multi-chapter works we found included a nice Kacxa story in the beginning, but then they proceeded in different directions and wound up with endgame ships other than Kacxa. Those that fell into this bucket were removed. We also found a collection of one-shots involving both Kallura and Kacxa. As that is a collection of one-shot stories, and one of those stories was Kacxa, it made the cut.
The second criteria is that the work be respectful of the Kacxa ship. There were two works that cleared the first screen but did not clear the second.
The works in the following list all have Kacxa as the endgame ship in the stories. I will post the list on Tumblr and the Kacxa Discord and will do my best to keep it updated. The list is sorted by rating (Explict, Mature, Teen and Up Audiences, General Audiences, and Not Rated), by Author, and by Publication Date. AO3 Author pseudonyms are used in the Author column. The titles in the list are direct links to the works on AO3.

I’m really sorry TT_TT I kinda made this, def inspired by another kacxa fanart I loved. I don’t think this could fit in “Retro Kacxa” from Day 3 but I hope this is good enough 😭

@poorrichardslegacy so this is my submission (sort of) for Day 7 of Kacxa Week 2020: Author's Choice
I haven't had any time to write the last two weeks cus life is a bitch but I def had ideas of what I wanted to write. I hope to eventually sit down and write it. So here it goes.
Day 7: Author's Choice
In an AU where no one dies *cough cough Allura* they hold a giant celebration throughout the Atlas.
Being the terrible influences they are, Veronica and Lance decide to spice things up when they spike the punch.
Shenanigans start to ensue as one by one everyone starts to get drunk. At first it's Pidge and Hunk and they reunite to become Team Punk and they start to scheme and get everyone else on the team drunk. Zethrid and Ezor are having a great time, challenging Matt & N7 & Nyma & Rolo to a drinking contest. Pidge gains some confidence and asks pretty boy James Griffin to dance which he blushes and says yes. That makes Lance ask Allura, and Hunk ask Shay. Pretty soon everyone is having a drunken good time. They're laughing and dancing and celebrating.
Everyone but Keith. Keith has been watching as one by one people come up to Acxa and ask her to drink, as members of the Atlas crew hit on her and ask her to dance. He hates it. He hates that these random people have more confidence than he could ever have. So he drinks. Liquid courage is better than no courage at all.
But Keith being Keith, it doesn't go as planned and he drinks to much and makes a fool of himself. Acxa thinks he's sick and takes care of him. He confesses that he's embarrassed b/c it should be easy to tell the most beautiful girl he's ever met that he loves her.
But Acxa being Acxa thinks he's referring to Romelle since he only ever sees the two of them together (Keith and Romelle have big found family siblings vibes). She goes and fetches Romelle and leaves. Keith of course sobers up by time Romelle arrives and he gets her advice. Romelle tells Keith that she definitely had a crush on him but after seeing that he was hopelessly in love with Acxa and after meeting and befriending Acxa realized that there was no better match then each other. She pulls him up, kicks his butt, and tells him to be himself and tell her.
Gaining the courage from Romelle, he finds Acxa trying (with the help of Ezor) to take Zethrid to her room. He wants to talk to her and Ezor gives a wink and takes Zethrid herself. There they go back to the party (long abandoned) and tells her how he feels and asks if they could dance. Romelle (who knew what he would do) was there and puts on a slow song. They sway back and forth and start a new chapter in their life, together.
Here is a little something I’ve been working on since Kacxa Week ended, literally along side Star Trek Lower Decks season 1. I wanted to do a Voltron/Star Trek AU of Keith being in the Federation and Acxa for the Empire for Kacxa-Week, but decided it would be quicker to do a fan art piece combining them wit the Lower Decks style. A work in progress but so far I am happy
One of our fellow Kacxa fans ( @amibel95017) contacted me the other day to let me know they have set up a Kacxa Fan Page (@kacxa.luv) on Instagram to spread the word and the love for our favorite Galra pair.

I actually started this a month ago, and it’s been hell working on it with school, but I FINALLY FINISHED!!!! I always wondered what Acxa’s backstory was
ლ(ಠ_ಠ ლ) what happened that led her to become Lotor’s general. Did her parents die?? Was her home world subjugated by the galra??? Then boom this comic was born (⊙_⊙) Part 2 will be up soon!

This is way too late, sorry! Can’t believe Kacxa Week is already over 😭 I got to read and see so many amazing works, it honestly was the best week ever! So much content for my kacxa heart!
I will do the other prompts too (even though the week is already over) so I guess it’s Kacxa month for me!

Summary: This is my submission for days 5 (Conversation in Black) & 6 (Battle injuries, healing, angst).
Like my other Kacxa Week story, this one can tie into "The Promise." That being said, this fic takes place from when Keith & Acxa escape Zethrid's ship to just before the lions land on the planet Acxa had her base on.
Both may seem out of character, but I've always imagined that someone like Keith would let his guard down and open up to just the right person, something we humans can't help but do when we are with that right person. Something I have always believed Acxa was.

I am awake at dawn feeling like I am dancing in between the clouds, or even far beyond, among the stars. Lavender scent. No ground beneath my feet, just a chilly wind that feels comforting like a strong embrace after a long cry. If I close my eyes I can taste sweet.

Hey, so I'm so so so so so sorry that I'm late. I've been very busy lately, school has been pretty overwhelming, I had to draw other stuff for my IG (@crystal.ibel ;)). Still, i hope its not TOO late, just to let you guys know, i will ALWAYS support Kacxa, even if i look like big scammer that asks questions for nothing :v, i will ALWAYS support Kacxa.
