Rasha stood back on her heels and watched Kai.  Her stomach dropped when she said that she was going to be honest and she looked down at her feet.  She knew it, she was terrible and Kai was going to as for a new partner.  When she heard what the dancer had to say, she looked up, her face breaking into a grin.  “Really?  Thank you.”  She said softly.  “I….I try really hard.”

Kai put her hand on the girl’s shoulder. “You really have talent. As someone who works with dancers for a living you impressed me. That’s honestly not that easy to do. Not to mention you are cute on top of all of that.” She commented, glancing down at her watch to look at the time. “It’s really already lunch time? Well I’m kinda hungry. What do you say we take a break and get lunch? It’ll be my treat.”

Nodding, Rasha fell silent and listened to the music and her feet and body started to move to the music.  She followed the memorized steps and Kai had laid out and while there was one or two hesitations, she remembered each step and combination.  When it came to the lift, she allowed herself to be picked up in Kai’s arms before being set down.  Once the music had finished, she glanced over at Kai shyly.  “Not too bad, I think.”  She said softly.  “I mean, not perfect, but not terrible?”

Kai followed every moved she had planned out. She made sure to do everything exactly on point. She had always been hard on herself to make things perfect when it came to dancing. It was impressive to her how god Rasha was. It had been awhile since she actually danced with someone good. After the music stopped Kai exhaled deeply. “I’m going to be honest with you” She took a moment before smiling. “Girl I went to one of the best dance schools in the country. You dance better than half the people there.”

Smiling softly, Rasha nodded.  “I may have to take you up on that offer.”  She said softly.  She nodded and put down the paper.  “Let us begin.”  Rasha stood in her position and rested her hand on Kai’s shoulder, waiting for the music to start.

Kai nodded slightly. “Great, we will talk about it later then.” She spoke before getting into her own position. She had rehearsed her part alone but it felt better with a partner. Her face grew serious as she prepared to dance. She hit the play button to the music. On cue she began to dance with Rasha by her side.

Rasha nodded and went up on her toes and came back down silently.  She gave Kai a smile and nodded.  “Perhaps I will have to come and take your class.”  She said before looking back down at the paper, her cheeks tinged pink.  Focusing on the paper, she bit her lip and focused on committing it to memory it, each movement and direction.  She read it over one last time before closing her eyes and imagining the movements.  Looking up at Kai she nodded.  “Shall we try a walk through?”

Kai couldn’t hide the small smirk on her lips. “I could always give you private lesson if you wanted. Free of charge of course.” She noticed the pink tint on the girl’s face. She would be lying if she didn’t think it was cute. She cleared her throat as she set her notes down. “Alright let do this.”

Rasha nodded softly and rocked back on her heels.  “I have never done hip hop dancing.  Even lyrical dance in Syria was frowned upon - actually any type of dance was frowned upon.”  She said with a shrug.  Walking over, she took the notes and gave Kai a small smile.  She read it slowly before looking at the sketch, her finger following each move.  “It looks very good.”

Kai looked over at Rasha as she spoke. “Well dancing isn’t frowned upon here. That’s all in the past this is in the now. In the now it’s never to late to learn. I can even teach some things. I’ve been told I’m a great teacher. Plus I’m pretty good at moving my body.” She sent the girl a playful wink. Kai flipped through her notes for what felt like the hundredth time. “Thanks, this is how my I make my living so I have to make things look good.”

And we’re just now seeing each other?! Nope, sorry, we’re gonna have to see each other 24/7 now to make up for the time lost. Hope you have some glue ‘cause I’m gonna be stuck on you. Thank you, thank you. I appreciate it. I’m so happy for you too. I’ve been reading up on your career and keeping up as much as I can. You’re fucking crushing it out there. I told you, if you can make my uncoordinated ass look graceful you can teach anyone.” Teagan waved a hand dismissively. “Eh. What’s the crime at staying young at heart if you’re not hurting yourself or others?”

“You just enjoy hearing me say you are right.” She playfully stuck out her tongue. “Oh this reunion will go down in history. They will tell stories of us for generations to hear.” Kai couldn’t help but laugh at her own words. She really did miss being with Teagan. “Just because you are nerdy doesn’t make you any less hot. In fact it makes you hotter, nerds are sexy. Also I love I bet that nursery looks amazing. Yeah, I’ve been back for a month. I moved in then the job needed me elsewhere for a bit.” She hoped it would be the last time she’d have to leave town for at least a few more months. “Oh I am down for spending all the time with you dude. Oh so you have been internet stalking me then. Tell me you have a secret instagram with the username ilovekai. You got some rhythm and baby that all you need to dance. If you mess up you make it look damn good.” She couldn’t help but let out a small sigh. “I think most of my youthful days are behind me. Can you believe I am actually settling down? Me of all people! Next thing you know I’ll actually have a girlfriend.”

I said I was going to work on replies for Kai but I lied. I just really wanted to get things going with my new bb Rio. Now I have to sleep so I can be up to get my hair done tomorrow. Which I promise I’ll do replies after that. Anyway I’m going to watch Jenna Marbles new video. I’ll be on mobile till I fall asleep.
