Liars - Left Speaker Blown (Mute Rec.)
Audio-visual reworking of Left Speaker Blown in collaboration with japanese musician MimiCof, who remixed the song exclusively for this music video.
Liars used a multi-colored wool string as their symbol for the viral promotion of their latest album MESS. Working with this preset, I dissected their wool string for this video and taped the tiny fuzzes on blank Super8mm film strip. Later I analyzed these handmade images frame by frame using a special microscopic apparatus combined with various light sources for the image transfer, revealing in the process that this wool string actually shows similarities to a virus.
The original version of ‘Left Speaker Blown’ is taken from the Liars album MESS (Mute Rec.) Remix by Midori Hirano aka MimiCof (PROGRESSIVE FOrM). Video directed by Markus Wambsganss.
