After Shiro’s disappearance, the team has to rebuild itself with Keith in the role of the Black Paladin. Keith and Allura have to navigate the changing dynamics as well as their growing affection for one another. And what secrets will they uncover along the way?

(This story starts at the end of Season 2 and therefore many characters written in the story bear little resemblance to the ones that may have appeared in the series)

We’re honestly past the point of arguing over whether piracy is a morally correct practice or not.

Studios are removing shows and movies from streaming services like it was nothing, all while telling us that “You don’t need to pirate stuff anymore, it’s available legally!”

Writers and actors are being denied residuals because the studio heads don’t view them as people, all their hard work is being thrown into the ether because a CEO needs to save up money for a yacht.

Like it or not, piracy is becoming a necessity at this point. As a lot of the shows and movies that are being taken down would be lost forever right now if someone hadn’t pirated them.

All the writing advice that says every scene has to move the plot forward, every scene has to serve a purpose, every scene has to accomplish something...

I'm not saying it's not true. It mostly is, yeah, kind of. But so much of that advice misses something really important, and I think following that advice without this extra layer can kill your voice and strip all the personality out of your writing if you're not careful. So here is my writing tip: yes, every scene should serve a purpose. But remember...

Trying to make the reader laugh is a purpose. Making the reader cry is accomplishing something. Giving the reader a moment to breathe and live in your world helps carry them through the plot.

I see this most often with writing advice about writing sex scenes: only include them if they serve a purpose. Okay? Maybe the purpose of them is to make the reader horny.

"I want a reader to feel *this way* when they read my work" is just as valid of a guiding principle for your writing as any beat sheet you want to follow for plot, or story structure, or character growth. Considering all of those elements in tandem, balanced with one another, will make your writing richer and will make your voice more unique and memorable.

let’s be honest, if ANY of the better known vld ships was originally planned to be canon then it was probably going to be kallura. not klance, not sheith, and definitely not fucking shallura.

there is some obvious build up for kallura in the series….but it ends up going nowhere. remember when people were raging about how kallura shouldn’t happen and started sending the staff hate mail about how kallura was “heteronormative” or “pedophilia” or whatever? even though the ship that all those things actually applied to was shallura? lmaooo.

we know for a fact that the plot was constantly being altered and the writers began to toy around with a keith/acxa romance (of all things), only to quickly abandon that idea when they witnessed how much the audience was against it. it makes me wonder if kallura suffered from the same fate.

the original storyboards made the kallura moments look even more “shippy” and the animators seemed fond of drawing art of the two together for reasons that were never explained.

BTW in V3D they weren’t canon in that universe but an alternate one. But, I digress.

It doesn’t make sense for anyone to say she can’t be black for Keith and Allura to be a couple. Especially, with no proof. That’s conjecture.

Just because two racist showrunners made that determination because of “reasons,” does not mean that everyone else is that stupid.

I can argue a case for the opposite. But I am interested in seeing what Amazon will do.

yeah I didn’t think too far. I was just mentioning how kallura has been cannon before so it being planned to be cannon in VLD makes sense. I know the basic idea for the amazon movie is ignore VLD and focous more on DOTU. That doesn’t mean allura will be blonde and white again. Cannon kallura with a black allura and asain keith would be great. I do think that might seem unlikley with the general ignore VLD mentality and potential legal issues with dreamworks.

I noticed you only singled out Allura’s skin color but not Pidge’s gender? That also changed with VLD.

In any event, the only way a legal battle may ensue is if they took the exact story from Netflix and made it a live action. But like every other version of Voltron, there usually are aspects of it in future versions. VLD took a lot from Voltron comics and some aspects of all of the last shows.

Further, we don’t know what those contracts look like and therefore you harping on her skin color as a basis for a legal battle, is a huge reach and also unfounded.

I would reserve judgement and not spread rumors and until we know more. Because seriously, you’ve been saying that since the show ended with no evidence or logic.

Let the legal team for Amazon worry about lawsuits. As for skin color, I don’t think it’s something you can trademark 🤦🏻‍♀️
