⚜ |  A warm drink along with a fire place would provide enough warmth for a knight to calm down – or so Lukas hoped.  After he handed the drink over, he gave Conrad a slightly puzzled look.

❝ Me…?  Haha, perhaps so, but I can certainly manage. ❞

The soldier offered more – a few treats gently wrapped in cloth.  He smiled as he revealed what was inside.

❝ Why don’t you try these cookies as well ?  They’re warm and freshly baked.  It would be unfair if I had them all to myself. ❞

“Are you sure? I’ve seen you up and non-stop for the whole week. Are you, perhaps, the kind of person who cares about the others before himself?” With a hum of appreciation and a little nod, he took both the warm drink and a treat in his hands, his smile widened as he looked at the cookie.

“Well, who am I to refuse such a treat? I thank you, Sir Lukas, it looks delicious.” Taking a bite of the cookie, and then a sip of his drink, he did confirm it was. “My, aren’t you gifted for making snacks. They are delicious.”

“Sir Lukas, are you feeling alright?” Conrad approached the bent figure of the older man, over the railing of the ship, who was apparently trying his best not to be sick, judged by the color his face was taking at the moment.

They were on their way to the continent of Akaneia, a merchant had asked fo their help, to protect him from the pirates and monsters living in the dangerous sea between Valentia and his Akaneia. As much as Lukas looked well and healthy during battles, when the adrenaline of the fight went down again, he was the whole opposite.

“Is there anything I can do to relieve your pain? Please, tell me if you need anything, alright?” At those words, he put a warm and comforting hand on the soldier’s back, drawing small soothing circles, like his mother once did to him when he first travelled by boat.
