he thinks my hair is sexy.
he runs his hands through my afro, his fingers along my scalp, gripping and pulling back in passion. theres no resistance on my end as i let him worship my crown.
it didn’t have to take this for me to realize my afro is sexy. western culture has brainwashed black girls to think that long, flowy hair is the epitome of sensuality and femininity. lets bury that narrative.
my curls, my 4c kinky african curls, are not just beautiful, aspirational, or aesthetic. my curls are seductive. my afro arouses desire. my hair is me.
the more i wear it in its natural state, the more i realize i don’t wear it out enough - and that’s probably why i have a hard time feeling sexy with it like i do with my weaves and wigs.
its a simple but profound realization: natural hair is just as much an aspect of my core sexuality as any other woman’s hair. im into it.
Black women are beautiful.
Not “beautiful… For a black girl”
Just gorgeous, full stop.
