Dear Katsblr community, topics included in this message includes suicide.
I feel like I haven’t really addressed these serious topics that’s happened all over the Big Blr of KATSEYE, and I apologize for doing so. This is my message to most events that’s happened to this community to today because…let’s be real; there is a lot to unpack, unfortunately.
I wanna start this message off by addressing the Jorlando situation, especially with former admins Gecko and Eyeball. I myself have heard from three people who knew them the closest, Von, Eli, and Dak, and recently heard BC’s public announcement on the two. As we should all know, the two admins of JF have been publicly noticed as minors. Now, this was a huge problem around the community because, for one; they were minors talking to MDNI blogs. They crossed a boundary that was set for almost every KATSEYE blog made. Not to mention, they were talking sexually to adults and about idols and the two men. Again, as minors. This isn’t ideal for their state of mind as they are still children. This type of situation needs to be handled “professionally.” The norm for teens to talk sexually about and to adults shouldn’t be normalized at all. It ruins them horribly. Now, I do want to mention the things that Gecko and Eyeball have done to themselves because of the situation that they had put themselves in. They did this to themselves. I hate to say it, but it is the truth and it is their consequences.
To add on, they are not just the only victims, but the people they had lied to. The adults that thought they were of age–the adults that they spoke sexually to. The people that they hurt have been torn by the situation. It’s made them sick for days. For me, I still feel sick about the situation. They lied under a facade and come back to pretend everything is okay. Even after countless apologises, I want to say that they should not connect with Katsblr or even try to indulge into their little community of what JorlandoForever once was. I do not want any of you guys to encourage this behaviour as well–even if the two have apologized for their actions. This is not good for them or for others on the app. As much as JF was fun, it has to come to an end for their own well beings and yours as well.
Secondly, the FriendshipGames Tumblr post–specifically this one. Under the comments, Riri, @riris-heart, had asked if this was “too much” to which the “host” of this account replied with “no” (read the paragraph sent if wanted for more information). First and foremost, I want to address the comment they left: “..But there are far too many suicidal people, and far too many people having experienced real life issues as a direct result of this Fandom incompetence.”
Addressing this, yes; there have been moments where suicide has been a topic for most people of the Katsblr community. Although, I hate to say this, but you cannot save everyone. As much as you want to, you can’t. Almost nothing can change a suicidal person’s mind if they plan to follow through with this self-destruction. Now, I’ve been in situations where I’ve almost lost and did lose a few friends due to this situation. It is luck that saves them, not a long paragraph that addresses this situation. I understand that you want to help, but some people do not want help at all, and you need to accept that. It took me a while to accept the truth, but I knew I needed to.
People will end up leaving and you need to learn to accept these things, even if it is hard to. It is difficult to deal with the loss of someone close to you or someone you knew for months, personally or not, but know that they wouldn’t have wanted you to think it was because of you. As mentioned, authors and people of the Katsblr community have their own lives and own problems. It will never be your fault that they are gone. It sucks to accept death, I know it is, but it’s something that you cannot avoid forever.
To the host of FriendshipGames, I deeply appreciate your concern for everyone and coming out with this announcement, but I fear that this long plethora of nothing will lead into a bigger problem than it already is. There is no need to have someone who wasn’t as deeply involved as others to involve themselves in this.
To address other ongoing issues, if you don’t like a preference that the author writes, you have a finger to scroll past it and a finger to click “not interested in.” There is no need to bash what an author writes just because you don’t like it. Your opinion does not threaten them; it is only you who is threatened by what they, indirectly, do to you.
And, just stop lying about your age, guys. You’re affecting yourself more and more the more you cry wolf for others to hear. It’s doing more harm to you than you would think. Respect and follow boundaries made–that is the best you can do as a former apology. And to anyone who fell under their lies; it is not your fault. You did not know. Do not blame yourselves for their actions afterhand and what they plan to do next. They did that to themselves.
For the most part, as a writer from Katsblr summer of ‘25, I’ve watched this community thrive and fall. The amount of authors leaving due to these problems and the amount of hate that many get is absurd. As much as I would love it to stop, I know there will be no end to it. Hate lives, and I can’t ignore that. As a community, I ask to stay strong together and stick up for one another. Don’t be afraid to have your own voice. Your hot take might be someone else’s agreement! Then again, situations like these won’t go away, so I ask everyone in the community of KATSEYE to not let your guard down.
You’re worth more than those hate anons. You deserve to rest. You’re not obligated to follow through with all of your requests. You’re allowed to take breaks. You’re allowed to be human. Don’t let yourself forget that behind your Tumblr account is a person who wants to have fun. A creative, lovely, amazing person who has this spark to them; even if you don’t think you do, you have one. You just need to find it yourself to understand that.
To everyone who actually made it to the end, I appreciate your patience reading this long message. I’m usually scared to speak up about these situations as I’m afraid if I say something, it’ll come out wrong. I want everyone to know that your voice deserves to be heard. Speak out about something that made you uncomfortable. Confront someone about something that you know is bad. You don’t have a voice to just stay silent.
To actually end this message, I hope everyone can do something out of this. Whether it is something small or big–as long as it is something. I’m not demanding you to–only if you want. But, I do need everyone to care for themselves. Eat something good and drink water. Get a good night's rest or take a nap that you’ve been needing. Take breaks from school, writing, or work, and give yourself time. Watch your favourite movie or show again. Listen to that song on repeat for a thousand times–do something that makes you happy. Only you–not someone else. I know you can do it.
Saying more, I do want to add that I, and other people alike, make sure that I have my own life outside of Tumblr. My life does not revolve around this app or the KATSEYE fandom. Someone stated that having friends outside of Katsblr felt like a breath of fresh air—and it does. As someone who has a few friends not associated around the KATSEYE community and Katsblr, I’m reminded that I don’t always have to engage in something that isn’t as relevant to me.
“Like I know not everyone would be able to go out to like a park or a beach or even outside home be it for strict parents, societal pressures or, in the case of the recent issues; being a child, but if you're in tumblr you can be in better places within it, don't fan the flames of hell and then complain about your scars and burns. You might think you don't have a choice or an option, and when you feel that I want you to put your phone down, drink some water and walk around the house or your room a bit. "What's stopping me from being better?" The answer should be nothing, if there is an answer, work to resolve it, ask for help, or just post it out and someone will help. That's what humans are afteral, humane,” one had said—stating their view on this topic.
You know when your limit is to stop—you don’t always have to stay just because a few people ask. Focus on what makes you happy and better.
I love this community with all my heart, and I love the journey that I’ve made to find the most amazing people ever. The people that understand, make me laugh, and love. I’m thankful for all of the friends I’ve made; you all mean so much to me than you could ever imagine. And to those who have been gone for months, you never leave my mind. You’ve made an impact on the community itself.
I hope that the Katsblr summer of ‘26 can be something better to make up for the past few months. I want everyone to be able to feel the sort of love that was once here before and can be here once again.
To actually end this message, never forget what the world lives in and where I stand. Fuck ICE, fuck Trump. Stand with the people of Palestine and the people of Ukraine and the people of Iran. No one is illegal on stolen land.
