“Woah!” 

Karamatsu was no stranger to making a complete fool out of himself in front of a large crowd of people. What had happened this time? He stumbled over a tiny pebble on the sidewalk, lost his balance, and was now finding himself flailing his arms and falling rapidly to the ground. 

With a loud plop, Karamatsu hit the ground and winced at the quick feeling of pain. His sunglasses fell off over his eyes and landed on top of his lips, making him aware that there were people looking in his direction, some whispering to themselves, others laughing, and a few others trying to make their way over to him.

So he did the next best thing he could to avoid embarrassing himself. 

He switched his position up as quickly as he could, putting his hand on his cheek and used his lips to maneuver his sunglasses off of his lips and rest just slightly on his nose. He pushed them up with his finger, and gave a grin for everyone to see. “Heh... I’m alright. No need to worry about me, my Karamatsu girls.”

Karamatsu knew that he had roommates, but due to the fact they were all probably busy doing something else, it was rare for him to actually come home and see that somebody else was there, too. He had only ever seen them once, late at night when he came back from a day spent with one of his brothers doing lord knows what, and they were all asleep. He never had the time to really introduce himself to them, but it didn’t bother him too much.

With a small sigh escaping his lips, Karamatsu adjusted the bags in his hands and reached his hands into the pockets of his jackets, pulling out his key to unlock the door. He pushed the door open as soon as he unlocked it and closed his eyes, in an attempt to look cool, and closed the door behind of him. 

He cleared his throat and opened his eyes, and took a surprise step back as he dropped his bag down to his side. He made eye contact with someone he had only seen just once, and gave him a small grin as he leaned his shoulder back on the wall, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Ah, didn’t expect to see someone else home.”

“Can’t believe we’ve gone this far without ever actually getting a chance to know eachother!”

It wasn’t a rare sight for Karamatsu to be standing in the middle of the side walk, observing the people who walked by him. He lowered his sunglasses and took a glance around every now and then, trying his best to look as mysterious as he could - that’s what people liked, right? That’s what he always assumed, anyways. Well, it was certainly grabbing people’s attention.

Lowering his sunglasses just a little bit to keep up his cool-guy guise, as he always does, he took a glance around at his surroundings. It didn’t take him long to spot a familiar figure walking just a little bit away from him, causing him to stop what he was doing and smile to himself. 

It’s been a while since they’d have last seen each other, right? 

“Kintoki!” He called out, putting his hands on his hips with a grin as he waited for him to turn around and acknowledge him.

“Right. I’ve met the Red von. I assume you are the Blue?” He asked, cold icy eyes fell upon Karamuppet. “There is a difference between fun and chaos. Remember that. Ve are all together in this.I’ll be watching you.”

“Heh, I’m not surprised you’ve heard of me before! I am the blue one, yes.” He flipped his hair out of his face and put a hand on his hip, but immediately felt just a little bit of intimidation at his words.... “Yes... I understand that, you don’t need to be keeping an eye on me.”

“I remember when my little brother stayed up all night waiting for Santa Clause to kidnap him. He managed to do it, too. Heh...”

Looking at Karamatsu was just an eye sore sometimes. With him constantly wearing his sunglasses, to wearing outfits that don’t even fit the current weather, he was just an absolute eye sore to stare at, even if for a second. 

Today was no different.

Even if he wore that leather jacket of his, it doesn’t change the fact that just looking at him could blind you. From nearly head to toe, Karamatsu wore sequined clothing - a sequined tanktop with his face designed onto it (with sequins or not was another question entirely - it was hard to tell, you couldn’t even get close enough without squinting.), sequined pants, and extremely tacky boots that...also happened to be sequined.

Looking at him was absolutely painful.

It’s not like he minded all the attention on him though. Karamatsu sat himself down at a nearby bench, crossing one leg over the other as he reached his hand into one of the pockets of his jacket and pulled out his phone. He used his other hand to adjust his sunglasses downwards to get a better, brighter view of his phone - and scrolled through it.

He had been in the hospital for so long, he didn’t even know what to expect when he went through the streets. Everything seemed to be so different to him, he had very little idea on where he was going - but knowing him, he’d get used to everything again eventually. With a little sigh leaving his lips, Karamatsu shoved his hands into the pockets of his jacket and pulled out his phone. 

Still a little damaged from the incident he went through some time ago, but it still worked. Karamatsu looked back and forth between his screen and where he was going to make sure he wouldn’t bump into people, and scrolled through the missed text messages he received.

He didn’t receive too many. A few from friends, checking up to see if he was okay, and a few mass-sent text messages everyone in the city most likely received. Karamatsu gave a small smile to himself and leaned himself against the wall of the building he stood in front of, scrolling through his messages until he found one that caught his attention. 

It was a mass text message sent out months ago. A pretty old one, obviously - but for some reason, it intrigued him. Something about looking for new members for an association. 

“Aogiri...?” He said under his breath, his eyes focused on the text message displayed on the screen in front of him.

    It was that time when it was too late to be called night, to early to be morning. That perfect in-between spot where most sensible people were asleep, and the few restless souls with too much on their mind were siting up in bed, bleary-eyed, wondering just what had brought them to this horrible state.

    For what may have been the first time in his life, Osomatsu was part of the latter.

    So it was a lucky break that he had a brother that lived so close to him. (He would have preferred that they lived together, but that was a discussion for another time.) In the deadest hours of night, Osomatsu finally takes the time to wipe the snot from his nose and the crumbly remains of tears from his eyes and make the trek to Karamatsu’s apartment.

    He always kept a spare key under the doormat– a family habit, apparently, as Osomatsu did as well– and it took no time at all for him to slip into his brother’s apartment, and in the room where he slept. 

    It’d be creepy to just stand there and watch, as much as it inclines him to, though that’s more out of hesitation toward any actual interaction than anything else. So he prods at Karamatsu’s shoulder, then his cheek, until he finally came to. He almost felt like his baby brother, waking his sibling up simply because he as afraid of the dark. Or maybe he was telling himself he felt that way, because his biggest fear in this city had finally revealed itself in its cold, harsh reality, and to face the weight of that would, in all likelihood, send him back into a fit of uncharacteristic tears.

It would be a lie if Karamatsu said he wasn’t that deep of a sleeper. At every little sound made throughout the night, he could feel himself coming back to consciousness. But it never took him too long to fall back asleep shortly after coming to, which was something he couldn’t help but to feel thankful for. 

So it wasn’t a surprise when he heard the sound of his room’s door jingle and unlock open, he opened his eyes up and glanced over in the direction of his door. He was quick to brush it off however, knowing that he had been sharing his apartment with others. Karamatsu yawned to himself and turned his head away from the door, closing his eyes, and drifted off to sleep no later than just a few seconds after doing so. 

However, his small amount of slumber eventually came to a halt when he could feel someone prodding at his shoulders, his cheeks, repeatedly until he couldn’t help but stir awake. He sat up, rubbing at his eyes in an attempt to clear the sleep out of his eyes. 

It took him a few seconds, but he put his arm down to his side and glanced over towards the person who kept bugging him to wake up, surprised to see a familiar face standing just over him.

“Brother? What are you doing here? It’s...” His eyes take a quick glance over towards the clock that sat on his night stand.

“It’s 2 AM, is everything okay?”

{{ after nearly a month and a half with no activity, i’m happy to say that i will be coming off hiatus and will be coming back into the swings of things! i’d explain what happened, but the post would end up being too long haha

unfortunately since i was gone f or so long, i’m going to need to drop all threads that i was doing before i left to start anew. and regarding karamatsu’s broken leg - let’s say that he was in the hospital recovering. he’s no longer in a cast, but he still needs crutches to keep his balance.

Although Karamatsu had picked up a weapon to fight, he had very little planned to get up close and personal with the giant beast. He figured he would only use it if the time called for it, otherwise - he’d stay as far away from it as he could and hide out in safety and let others do the dirty work for him. He held his machine gun propped up against the floor, barrel side down as he leaned against the handle as carefully as he could.

He adjusted the sunglasses(what number pair was this again...? He didn’t keep count - he doesn’t really bother to, anymore. He just blurts out a random number and rolls with it if they were to break again.) on his face and pulled them downwards a bit, scanning the surrounding area around him. “Hm...”

“Excuse me...!” 

He could only go so far with a leg up in a cast and none of his brothers by his side. As far as he could recall - he wasn’t even sure if they were okay, and that was something that was bothering him. He hadn’t been able to see them all in so long, are they okay? That was the question lodged in the back of his mind. 

But he couldn’t exactly pull out his phone in the middle of a battle zone, now could he? Of course, he was safe for now, but he wanted to find a place to just stay for the day. 

Karamatsu gave a smile towards the stranger and approached him as quickly as he possibly could.

“Would you- by any chance, know a good place to hide out for a bit? I... I need to do something, but I can’t do it out here.”

♬♬♬ – SHE’S NOT MEANT FOR THIS. The gun feels awkward, heavy in her grip, limbs that were never designed to bear arms. Words of a soldier echo in her mind as she lugs her weapon along a side street, ignoring the desperate hammering of her heart telling her to abandon this idea of help and flee before it’s too late.

Somehow, she presses on. The shuddering roar of the titanic beast echoes in the distance, but that’s not the enemy she’s come out to fight. No– she spots her target as she peeks out from behind a wall. Lumbering along the road is a lone mechanical drone, strayed from its pack. Gloria inhales a breath. Stepping out from the wall, hands shake as she lifts her shotgun and aims it toward the enemy.

Finger trembles on the trigger. Her digit twitches, but just before she’s about to fire, someone else steps out of hiding at the other end of the street, quite nearly colliding with the drone. Don’t shoot, don’t shoot! She screams at herself, but it’s too late. A loud, deafening bang echoes through the street, and the recoil of the gun pulses through her shoulder, sending her crashing to the ground. The bullet doesn’t even hit her target– no, instead it hits the wall, an inch above the newcomer’s head.

On the upside, though, at least the beast isn’t paying attention to him anymore. It’s much, much more interested in the source of that ear-splitting, thunderous noise.

The news had hit him like a truck, truth be told.

Everything had happened in the blink of an eye. One minute, the NPCs had been acting stronger than usual - some non-human NPCs recognizing him as Matsu and making him cower even more in fear as he wandered the streets. Then in the next, they were all gone and suddenly, there was a beast in their place, wreaking havoc all over the place.

The scientists(? He didn't even know anymore.) had been kind enough to give everyone their powers back or a weapon to defend themselves, and Karamatsu made a quick rush towards the source to see if he could find anything of use. He was unsure of if he had any sort of ability, to be painfully honest - Akatsuka was a pretty strange world. He could've had some sort of hidden ability he didn't know of! But ability-less or not, Karamatsu's eyes had come across a quite large gun. He was surprised that nobody had yet to claim it, but even more surprised to learn he could pick it up and fling it over his shoulder with little to no problem - especially with his leg still in a cast.

It seemed he was stronger than he recalled!

Karamatsu had been on his way to confront the beast and see if he could find any form of weak points, to see if he could study the creature as close as he could get without making too much of a noise to capture it's attention. That unfortunately didn't go over to well for him, as the beast had taken notice to his presence and wanted him out of it. Just as he was about to turn and run away as best, and as quickly as he could - he felt something breeze right above his head and let out a yelp as the bullet blasted it's way through the wall of the building behind of him.

He blinked and stared up at the wall behind of him in shock, then back over his shoulder to see where the source was coming from. He took notice to a figure in the distance, a somewhat familiar figure and quickly made his way over towards her. He held the machine gun over his shoulder and raised a brow as he approached her, looking down towards the weapon in her hands.

"You should be more careful with that," He laughed.

"You almost got me, but never mind that. Do you need help?"

{{ anime expo happened and then life came and hit me in the face directly afterwards which caused me to not be able to come on .... so i’m very sorry for suddenly dropping off the face of earth, especially with an event going on! 

i’ll be going and doing those replies that i need to do prior to the event but i completely understand if you would rather not reply to them until after the event.

Don’t be alarmed, Hive City, if you walk by Sector 6 and hear the gentle giggling coming from the woods.. Did you see that? No, of course not, there’s no such thing as fairies. You must be losing your mind. If you hear soft voices and sing song tones, it would be best to stay away from District Mu.. at least, for now.

[[Hello hello hello my lovely muns! It’s been three years since I’ve done a mini event so I’m really excited. Last time I did one of these I had so much fun, so here we go again! I’m stoked, I’ve been planning this for months.

On July 25th, I (well, Light) will be hosting a Midsummer’s Night Dream themed summer ball which will take place in Sector 6, District Mu! The ball itself takes place on the 25th, but starters for the ball can be written from the 25th of July to the 1st of August, so the ball itself will have only been one night in Citta canon, but the event will be a week real time. It’ll be a semi formal to formal type deal and I’ll be contacting a couple people through out the month (IC) about things like food, drink, decor, etc.

So! Do me a favor and reblog this post! Just like the last ball I did, I’m going to be making invitations for everyone who does (Citta affiliated blogs only, obviously) which means your submit box needs to be open so your character can get theirs.

Use the tag #ca midsummer as easy access for starters, dash commentary, etc. so that it’s easier for people to follow. That’s the tag I’ll be using for updates or news about the event as well!
