I think that Helen and Ernest never entertain it outside the bedroom because Mad has a flock of fans that worship her and it's all very obviously gone to her head 🤣

That isn't to say that they don't praise her outside the bedroom. She can't have her only praise from them be in the sack - that would bring a whole complication of things like her thinking she's only ever good in their eyes if sex is involved.

Madeline would try to find them and fish for compliments but they'd ignore her or tell her to come down from her high horse. But then they'd make sure to compliment her when she's not seeking it out, you know? When she'd least expect a compliment, there Helen and Ernest are, telling her she looks so pretty when she first wakes up and her hair is a mess, her face makeup free.

Of course, there are times when Madeline is feeling particularly down about herself, and Helen and Ernest have to gage whether she's using her acting skills to get something out of them, or if she really is upset about something. They're both so in-tune with "fake Madeline" though, that they can usually spot the moment she's being her true self and make sure to give her the attention she's seeking.

In the bedroom, however, they hold nothing back. They like to lay Madeline out, kiss her everywhere, whisper how good she is into her skin, tell her she's the prettiest woman they've ever seen. Madeline's praise kink is intense. She sometimes acts bratty to get what she wants from them quicker (which usually ends in a punishment of some kind), but once she starts behaving again, they make sure to give her everything and more, whether that's orgasms or endless compliments, she'll take them.

Yess I agree! And I can totally see Mad being all over him, showing possessiveness towards him, just to show Sara that he's pretty much taken. Ernest being confused/surprised, asking himself where did that behavior came from but ~not so lowkey~ loving it, and Helen amused with the situation but also giving Sara a deadly glare.

I think Madeline and Helen just seduced the heck out of him. in my mind, the decided the best approach was to butter him up as much as possible and the threat of Viola killing him was the icing in the cake. lol

I don't think there's much difference between canon Ernest and the one I write! He is definitely softer in my fics but I think he just has lost all backbone by the time they convince him to drink the potion and figured it's better not to argue with Mad or Hel hahaha thanks for the compliment on how I write him!! ohh good question about Sara!!! I'm honestly not so sure how that'd go! Mad and Hel definitely would lose their minds over it. I think they'd threaten to kill Sara, claiming it wouldn't be the first time they've committed murder, and it'd scare Ernest enough to cut ties with Sara lol or they'd scare her by showing her their wounds 🤣

I could also see him being like "Oh, thanks, I'm flattered but I-I'm married. And uh, I can't... It's not not an open marriage cause we have a girlfriend, but I think Madeline, my wife, and Helen, our girlfriend would have my dick cut off if they even see me talking to another woman." and Sara is just staring at him like he has 3 heads lol
